Probably, a lot of people look at lottery numbers that way hoping to find something unique that only includes a small group of numbers and happens often enough that they can pick a winner, I know I do. I've been looking at the last 177 MegaMillions drawings hoping to pick a winner for Tuesday drawing for a piece of that $340M jackpot.

This is true, RJOh. However, it's just something that really hit me when I looked at the results last night. 3 just stood out.

You can probably can look at any lottery that way. The numbers are from MegaMillions:

07/28/06 02 13 23 32 35 04

08/09/05 13 35 36 43 52 05

09/07/04 13 30 36 38 51 35

07/13/04 13 31 37 39 52 38

09/27/02 23 27 30 33 36 05

The 27 =2+7=9 and the 51 = 5+1=6

In the Lottery Discussion Forum I posted that the 6 numbers that were drawn to win $21 million didn't follow the usual patterns suggested by the people who write books and how to pick numbers since they are all odd numbers, etc.

The 6 numbers (out of a possible 53) are

1-3-13-25-31-39

I immediately noticed that 3 was very dominant and that the first 2 (1, 3) becomes the third number (13) One number is 13 transposed (31)
