To be honest about it, I'm in it to win it for the most part (95%) and to win at something the other 5%. I wouldn't be playing the lottery for any other reason but to win it! I don't think many play it for the fun of it and not think about winning it! But if you are one of those few who play the lottery just for the fun of it and hoping not to win it, you can just send me your money instead! I'll put the extra money to good use by buying more PB or MM tickets

The lure of the lottery is $$$$$$$$$$$$ no doubt.

The $$$$$$$$$$$$ would definitley free you up to do more things and enjoy more of life, be charitable, and many other things, but the lure is $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Lotteries (and casinos) know this, and they are in the business of capitalizing on people's greed (an thei egos) just as much as they are in the gaming and entertainment business.

I enjoy both the challenge of picking(predicting) the winning numbers and the chance to win a jackpot if I play them and I'm right.

Some may say there is no challenge because winning lottery numbers are the results of several random events during a drawing and picking(predicting) them is a matter luck and nothing else.

When I post my predictions on the prediction board, I hope they win even if I don't play because like other LP members who do the same I'm posting for bragging rights and... [ More ]

I don't want to win to fill an emptiness in my heart, just an emptiness in my pocketbook. I look at money and love or success as entirely different things. You can be successful at many things and still be poor. I don't look at the lottery as a challenge, because I feel it's all luck. Look at all the idiots we read about who win millions.

Many threads on LP try to find some spiritual, moral (or immoral) reasons people want money. It is what it is..m-o-n-e-y. No more, no less..at least to... [ More ]

I guess for the money, I've gotten tastes of the apple and I would like a whole apple.

But you know what, I found a a place with a bunch of great people that also want the apple and are willing to share the knowledge with others to get that tasty fruit. Because of this place I've gotten more tastes of the apple in the past year than I would have ever on my own.

Maybe this is an odd question but as I was driving home today it popped into my head. Why do I want to win? Is it really for the money? Or because of some other lack in my life?

We have all been lucky and unlucky in various ways. I've been lucky with the necessities of life but as far as personal satisfaction? Yikes! there's room for improvement, as I'm sure with all of you.
