I tried again and this time the 10 lines had four or the winning numbers but I only match 2 once for a $1 win. I thought I was on to something but it may have been only a flash of luck so it's back to more testing and theorizing.

You're almost getting enough match2's match3's to cover your ticket cost and play your other numbers for free. Neat trick.

I played those 10 lines which only had three of the winning numbers but I did match 2 twice of $2. Rolling Cash5 rolled to $279K so I'm picking another 10 lines the same way and playing again tonight. The odds of matching 2 are 1:9 and I've done better than that the last two tries so maybe I'll do even better tonight.

Tried the same thing for tonight's drawing with ten lines which I posted on the prediction board. Too many lines spread out the winning numbers and don't allow them to come together on the same lines.

Sometimes the nomenclature of the explaining equations can be a bit much to wade through. Will give it another look, though.

Believe it or not this is related to a topic posted by WIN D, Magic number # 6 Why?

If you apply WIN D's observations to the topic I posted a while back, the Generalized Average Rate of Reoccurrence, you'll find your answer for any Pick 5 or Pick 6 lottery.

WIN D observed that at 6 times the average rate of reoccurrence, an event was sure to show itself nearly 100% of the time.

For the MegaMillions drawings since the last matrix change it has taken 26-67 drawings for all 56 numbers to come up before the last 211 drawings. After reviewing other data I'm starting to think this data may be helpful in picking winning combinations. For example whenever it has taken 41 drawings for all 56 numbers to come up, the winning numbers following that period have hit 1-7 times during the period of 41 drawings with 90% of the numbers hitting 2-5 times and have hitting as a group 10... LOL!

Yeah I know. I put the rankings into a Pick-5 program that shows skips, but when I realized it didn't include the draws before a number was ranked 39th, I didn't have the time to finish.

But I do know all the numbers were drawn in 9 draws on the low side and number 25 skipped 61 draws in that 150 draw period. Maybe one of years I'll figure out how to use the chart.

I made a chart that places the Ohio Rolling Cash 5's 39 numbers in the order they last hit. The first 5 numbers are from the last draw and the 39th is the number that's gone the longest without a hit. When I enter the next draw, the numbers are entered in the order or rank they appeared on the previous line.

When 1-7-20-25-28 was drawn, 1 was ranked 21st, 7/2nd, 20/19th, 25/13th, and 28/29th so the numbers would be entered as 7-25-20-1-28. The other numbers fall in ranking and the previous... [ More ]

In Marylands Bonus match 5 we have had some months where some numbers never were drawn during the month. This would be one or 2 numbers. Around the 4th to 5th week they would appear.

Has anyone ever worked out what the average number of days is that it takes for all the numbers to have appeared?

Of course, a number may hit several draws in a row and then go cold, but after so many days they all would have appeared.

I'm putting this in Pick 5 because the drawings are more frequent.
