Given 9 drawings per month * let's say 39,000 combos dropped per game, removes 351,000 rolling white-ball groups from consideration, ~9.9% of 3,478,761. It's an edge but, as LANTERN mentioned, needs a few more ingredients to make a good soup.

I think if you have the correct sum, but not 5/5, the best you can do is 3/5.

According to johnph77's chart https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/165993 ,the most frequent sums for a 5/55 game 135-145 covered 12% of the possible sums but with PB last 238 games they included 16% of the actual sums so maybe staying within such a parameter might give one an edge.

I know that I should not put my 2 cents in, mostly because I don't do jackpot games and so therefore know next to nothing about them.

But, a few times before I have taken quick looks at those kind of lottery games.

It seems to me, if I understood right, back then, when I took a quick look at the sums filter for those kind of games, that due to the nature and make-up of jackpot games, filtering out sums does no good, unless you filter out very many of the Middle sums, johnph77 seems to b... [ More ]

Not necessarily. If the 10 sums that occur most frequently were filtered out, 422,948 combinations would be eliminated, just over 11% of the total possibilities. On the other hand, if the 10 sums that occur least frequently were eliminated, then only 24 combinations would be filtered out. In any event this might be effective when used with other filters, but not as a standalone.

I thought filters are used to narrow the parameters. If there are 255 possible sums and 10 are filtered out, that means only 4% of the possible sums are being rejected.

5/56 sums range between 15 and 270, with 142 and 143 being the most likely sums to occur. But neither of these two will occur much more than 1% of the time. Probability would dictate that the likelihood of a repeat in any given 30-day period would be unlikely, but the possibility is always there.

seems to me i keep the same two white balls in the field of play at all times.i've had the 'ol red ball a few time or two but nothing to brag about.

Looking at the past month's of sums for pb white balls only, looks like a sum doesn't repeat within a month.. Would you think that filter would be one that would help you play smarter
