The Texas Lottery has an explanation of how they choose which ball set and the results of pre-tests on their website. They set a standard that decides if the pre-tests are random and use that ball set if it passes or replaces it with another ball set if it doesn't.

Good question, I also would like to know for sure.

But as there are pre-tests, they should always hold the very same number of pre-tests before the Real draw.

I wish that there was no way for them to know which numbers were bought before the draw and also before they posted the winning number on their web sites, after the winning number was posted then yes.

The ball's in the machine that come up with the numbers are they picked by the state lottery or ramdom

Oh yeah. That's the whole point of why I don't do that any more. If I walk in and hit a losing streak I can't lose more than I have (approx 30 bucks) -- and if I win enough so that I have more than the 30 bucks I came in with, I feel real good knowing that I beat the house, so to speak. And even if I'm 10 bucks ahead, I leave with more than I started with, and had some fun in the interim.

The assumption is the states began offering lottery games last month or last year. There are several states that have been booking pick-3 games for over 30 years. The math is really simple; they pay out 50 cents on the dollar. In most state lottery financial reports they give the exact win/loss percentage and some years it will be slightly over 50% and some years under.

The only problem you would have with the state lottery is if your sysmtem would happen to be hacking the computerized number system to get numbers.

There was an article last year about a state getting on a company selling numbers. The company was selling lottery numbers that they claimed improved players chances of winning and the state banned them from advertising in their state unless they could prove their claims.

You're luckier then me than, because when I play video poker I end up going home with less then I started wth. lol. I tend to play, win a bit and I tell myself, just a couple of more hands...and then poof! my moneys gone.

LOL ! Yeah, as I know that you know, we get that all the time here. If there were any such system that actually produced a constant profit , someone would have discovered/stumbled upon it long before now.

I think alot of people that think they have discovered something confuse the difference between winning and making a profit. You can win pick 3 everyday by spending $500 and covering all the straights. But your profit will be less than zero at the local store, and zero itself if you did it o... [ More ]

I think someone posted on here (along time ago) that they had a winning system and believed that the when the government found out how successful it was for them, they changed the matrix or something. But that was just one persons post.

IMO, I don't believe that there really has been any system that strikes terror in to any agency as of yet.

Why would there be any problem? The government doesn't care how you pick your numbers. The odds are still in their favor, no matter how you pick your numbers.
