I'm not judging you, but I'm a little puzzled by all of this. Not sure where in Central Florida you live, but I'm in the Naples area on the west coast and live about 500 miles (each way) from Hardeeville.

Anyway, I'm just trying to use logic here and my question is this. Florida has a lot of games, including a state lotto with 1 in 23M odds. MM odds are about 1 in 176M. PB odds are about 1 in 146M. I guess I have the best of both worlds. I just moved from Oregon (Powerball) to Washington (MegaMillions). I like 1 block away from a store that has a MM terminal and if I want to buy PB I just go to work and stop at the store 1/2 mile from work.

Made it back.......won the big $7.00 (or should I say only lost $193.00?) from the last set of tickets. Got 20 adv PB and 10 MM which was the max for both states.....at least I don't have to drive to SC for 2 months now.

My tickets from May are expired....I'm road tripping tomorrow before tomorrow nights mm draw. I haven't checked last results......will post after I get back tomorrow. I'm gonna get PB from SC and MM in GA.............and 10 advance plays from each........

I thought I was nuts but you're insane LOL... I drove from Jax FL to GA/SC get tickets as well when the JP was over 100m or more I thought I was the only one doing that....... but when you win the JP nobody will be questioning you why you did it..... you are the man because of gas prices I've only been traveling to Ga only.

I live in Kentucky and PB is my main game . I play it most draws , no matter what the jackpot. Always picking my own numbers, with a QP or 2 throwed in for good measure.

But I play Mega Millions maybe 15 % of the time......usually when the jackpot is high. Wisconsin only lets you get 8. I usually get 8 but will get less depending where the jackpot level is. If it is 300 Million I would not get 8.

I like PA better cause you can get (or you could the last time I was there) 26 advance draws

We have MegaMillions in Ohio and last year I would drive 115 minutes down the Lincoln highway (Rt30) to New Haven, Indiana for PowerBall tickets when its jackpot was $200M+ and MM jackpot was a lot less.

Lately both games have had similar size jackpots so the differences weren't worth the drive. Now that gas prices are $4 per gallon, driving that far for lottery tickets is even less attractive. I drive to Virginia State Line. It is only about a 45 minute drive. I can buy as many as 26 draws in advance, which runs me $130.00

Good story. Been there, done that, have T-Shirt proving it. I just sit there and smile at the camera on the dash of the black and white! Nevada wants to keep ALL its money in Navada. The whats happens here, stays here is not quite accurate. What they can take from you stays there. DoO love the excitement those. Get bored drive into town and stroll through the lobbies. Minimum cost, maximum intertainment. Wouldn't change it for NYC for a second.

The other night I went back to the store to buy a couple of Lotto tickets only because it's walking distance (although I drove because it was dark and we don't have sidewalks)

Rather than spend the money on gas, it makes more sense to just buy more Lotto tickets to increase my chances.

I put 1 state but that is 78 miles one way so it is 6 gallons round trip or

currently 6 * 4.25 or about a $26 trip so it will have to get way up there for me to go get them again.

I live in north Tx, about 70 miles right up I-35 to the first town in OK. I used to drive up there to buy PB tics for 10 draws. But with gas the way it is, I can't see spending the money on gas for odds of 146 mil to 1. So it's MM and the TX lotteries for me right now.

Now that I think about it, I have a PB tic that's worth 3 whole dollars from the last time I played PB. LOL.

Usually I combine a trip for MM tickets with a needed trip to the gas station or grocery store, but if the jackpot is high enough I might make a special trip to the store - all of three miles.

Well I'm about 75 miles in any direction from a MM state, so I just take my chances on PB where I can get tickets at a gas station 500 yds down the road. I tend to like the lower yielding Play 3 and Play 4 lottos though. Millions would be nice though... mmmm..

I too drive a truck (temporarily) so I buy play advance play draws in IL for MM and NC for PB (can go up to 26 advance plays there). I will also buy advance plays for MM in VA as they also offer 26 advance plays. Then I just buy anywhere from a buck to $20 bucks extra wherever I happen to be when that PB or MM draw is really high. I also will buy advance plays for Florida Lotto, Texas Lotto, and California SuperLotto whenever either I or my brother visits those states on our delivery runs.

Before S.C. got a lottery I use to drive down I-95 to the line just for advance plays in pick 3 and 4.

About a 4 1/2 hour drive.

I drive a truck and play a system for mm and pb every week, $13.00 per draw X 2 draws for each game. $52.00 total, quit smoking 13 years ago so that is where the money comes from. Live longer and maybe a millionaire someday. God bless and good luck.

1 state a way for me, because that's exactly what we do, but we live not all that far from the state border.

Usually when we go though it's not just to play PB (We're in a MM state).

When I lived in Nevada a lot of us would drive from Vegas to a small town in California called Nipton, that had lotto ), but its lotto action has probably all dried up since Primm opened and put a gas station about 3 inches from the Welcome to California sign so they could sell lottery tickets.

Well, if I want Powerball tickets there a few stores within walking distance from me. If I wanted Mega Millions tickets, I would have to drive to another state and that's not going to happen unless I end up traveling or something. So basically, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy tickets.

Ok.... this is a confession and a poll. About a month ago when the PB and MM were well over 100 million, I got up one morning and drove from Central Florida to Hardeville, SC via I-95 to buy PB tickets (plus 10 advance draws). At this point I grabbed something to eat, gased up and hit the mens room. I then turned around and headed home stopping at the first exit in Georgia to pick up some MM picks (and 10 advance draws), and then headed home. 575 miles/8.5 hours...........priceless, maybe a litt...
