If I hit the JP, I would be outta here for sure. Will likely keep the house that I just bought and keep it as a summer home I guess. I would then likely travel the world until I found another place that I like. I would have a winter home in the Philippines so that I have a private island and beach that I could call my own.

i love my state [nj] but would move to a quieter city - that choice wasn't there - but would also definitely have a little spot somewhere warm .. oh yeah

Don't they already have a megamillions winner there? You know the ones - $270 million last February. Lived in some little GA town with a population of about 600 or so? Wasn't that Hooterville

I would definitely have moving in my plans - they are even before winning a jackpot. I'd just move up the schedule.

1st choice destination - Texas Hill Country, possibly Lake Travis (with a western view over the lake to catch those spectacular sunsets ). If not, then something on top of a hill with views for miles. All of my family is within hours of there. I chose the beach because I'd like be somewhere on the water. But in all reality, I'd like to move back to Texas.

Now if I were a single gal, I'd chose the around the world option. I'd love to travel the world and see what else is out there. I don't see my husband wanting the trek around the globe like that. I'd want to stay in the state, both because I love it here and because there is NO state income tax. Since I wouldn't be a big spender on material things, the high sales tax here would be far less than income tax for me. Depending upon the extent to which I could keep the win anonymous, I'd stay in my present location until the real estate market picks up and I am able to get a good price for my view property. Nah, TN apparently has taxes on interest and dividends so you'd probably end up paying them anyway. I was thinking of either Florida, Texas or Nevada. Only issue would be if there's local income taxes, but as long as whatever taxes and other expenses there may be is less than's Michigan's 4.35% flat tax rate, I'd be fine. Besides, I have family there, well only my older brother but that's still one too many.

I'd certainly move ASAP, where though I'm not completely sure but somewhere where I won't have to put up with weather in Michigan or similar. I was thinking somewhere sunny with mild winters and low or no state income taxes, heh.
