I bet it's jealousy. New Jersey was just nudged out of first place for richest state by Maryland. NY hasn't even made it to the top ten.

The only other states I've ever bought tickets in besides my own(Louisiana) are New York, Idaho, and Colorado.

I didn't buy because of superstition, I bought them because I had a chance to play games that weren't available in my home state.

None of the tickets were winners, though, oh well.

Conan O'brien and other New Yorkers make fun of New Jersey all of the time. The stereotype is that New Jersey is a garbage state. It's all a joke. I saw a bumper sticker the other day. It was a picture of factory with pollution coming out and it read New Jersey: The vacation of a lifetime .

The reason I ask is I have read the last 2 Large Mega Millions jackpots were won from the state of GA. Where I happen to buy tickets. The folks from Portal, GA that won 275 million and Ed Nabors that one half of a $390 million dollar pot. I am thinking that my luck in GEORGIA might be tapped out! I bought 2 scratchers and the rest on MM tickets. My scratchers were losers.....and tonight I matched only 2 numbers and the MegaBall.
