I've been playing PowerBall since it was called Lotto America, and it's been my experience that the tickets are good right up to the moment they draw the numbers.

If you are making out a play slip, read the instruction on the back. If you are buying QP from a clerk, tell the clerk the number of drawings you want to play.

Visit your local Lottery Retailer and pick up a Powerball Bet Slip. (Don't forget the PowerPlay option for an additional dollar.) You can purchase up to 13 weeks (26 drawings) in advance. Your cost increases with each drawing date you add.

Sorry, you're right, I thought you asked something else. Lottery tickets (Powerball included) are only good for the one drawing they are purchased for, unless you buy a subscription. If you want to be in the next draw, you need to buy another ticket.

If there are no winners one week (like tonight -- Aug. 5 -- for instance) is the ticket I bought earlier today still good until there is a winner -- even if it's weeks from now
