TN's P6 hasn't gotten any harder cuz it seems next to impossible to win in the first place.

I remember all the hoopla when somebody won the very first jackpot on the very first drawing and not much since then. It's a 6/44, computer generated game anyway so I go to VA and play their 6/42 game.

VA's P5 game is much better than TN's too - 5/34, 1 in 278,256 compared to TN's 5/39, 1 in 575,757.

TN's last P6 drawing is Jan 29th because MM is coming. I don't think anybody will miss it.

I'm... [ More ]

Virginia shows the reverse pattern: the Pick-6 game, after temporarily getting harder to win, got easier to win. Virginia started off with Lotto South in January 1990. At the time it was 6/45. Somewhere they changed to in 6/49. Then, they got rid of the game altogether and replaced it with Win for Life, which is actually easier to win, as it is a 6/42 matrix with a bonus ball from the remaining numbers, and you play only 6 numbers. The bonus ball is there just for the sake of prizes.

Did they slip in another digit here and there throughout the years making it harder to win?

If I remember corretly both Oregon and Washington started out in the low 40's' . With all the advertising they have done, they never boasted on that one. I think they got big jackpot feaver hoping it would catch on. Now with the power-mega match games they look attractive but still have lousy odds. What was wrong with the first offering of 6/42? And they wonder why people like the casinos.....
