Quads are quite rare but over the ten years since the Missouri quad in 2000, if there are six draws per week then one would've expected a 93.98% chance of another quad being drawn at least once in those ten years but the lack of a quad may be unintentional if a RNG is being used. RNG algorithms are simply deterministic sequences that meet certain statistical tests and hence by definition tend to spread out the numbers being generated rather than be truly random so a RNG could easily avoid quads... There used to be a White Hen Pantry not to far from where I live. Now it's a 7-11. I haven't seen any other stores with the name Pantry in it but I don't get out much. (Parking is so bad where I live)

I did find it interesting on your list(for 09) there was a winner at the 7-11 on Dodge Ave. I pass by this store twice a day going to and from work.

Also the 2 wins from the same store (I think it was a dollar store) had to be somewhere close to where I live.

Exactly badboy00z, you may not know how it works... I most respectfully say, I do know how it works. And permutations or no; It goes again's even their Law of Average which they tells us that, a quad average number between draws goes from 859 and up to 1,185. Other States have a Maximun number of Draws up to 3,039 New Jersey's 3333 have far exceded the law of average by over 9,000! It is up t0 12,264! Not permutation is more like or mutation! I am in agreement with LadyMylena. If they do that, they can also fix it so the sold out numbers do not come out!

After all they rarely ever do!! Like Missouri with the Quads for Instance the only quad they have is 5555 since they started in 1998 they allowed one; quad 5555 which came out in 2000. Since then not one more! Or New Jersey's 3333 have not seen the light of day since 1983!!! 27 Years!!!, Wisconsin with their nonexistent triples! and many other States! It would be scandalous if they did redraws till the draw was in their favour however they do have alarms in their computer programs that will stop sales if the ticket sales are such that they have a risk of losing more money then they intended. Usually this is just in reference to the smaller prizes where instead of a share of a jackpot, it's a guaranteed prize amount. So yes it's fixed but only by whether or not they continue to sell tickets for a given draw.

In almost five years of getting the list of daily winners for the Little Lotto, population aside, an inordinate numbers of winners have been purchases in Chicago and collar county stores with the name Pantry in them. Didn't msatter if it as a quick pick or not, they just sold a lot of winners.

Especially the White Hen Pantry. If I remember right, they were bought by 7-11 but boy did they have a lot of jackpot winners.

I am not saying that a: Pick6/49 is easier than a Pick5/39 only the 5/5+0 match of the Pick5/49+ bonus ball part is easier than the 5/5 Pick5/39 that plays everyday...Plus it gives you more time to strategize...

Also a 5/6 of a pick6/49 that plays twice a week is easier than a: Pick5/39 that plays everyday...that s my opinion...

Well in illiois the 6/52 is three times a week since Mondays were added.

But on no way, shape, or form is a 5/39 game played everyday more difficult than any 6/49 game no matter the game frequency.

I think i know why i wrote about this 7 years ago...

the reason i think is because: the Pick6/49 plays twice a day it doesnt play everyday so is a lot easier than a Pick5/39 that plays everyday...A game is more difficult if is played everyday than it is played twice a week or 3 times a week...At least 1 find them more difficult the ones that play everyday...

I dont know how come i havent mentioned it here...To what level is the difficulty i dont know...

Talk about odd feelings

I always think the same thing about Southern CA. It seems that for years all the winners come from LA county. then I did the demographics for southern VS northern, and there are WAY more people in LA county vs lets say Alameda county something like 10 million to 3 million.

Wow, it would sure be nice to get those kinds of stats.

Here, you never know how many winners there were altogether, if it was a QP or not (unless it's the jackpot), or how many smaller prizes were won. They will only say if the jackpot was won, or the second prize (sometimes there's several won in a draw, and they will tell what area of the state they each were in), but nothing beyond that. I suppose one could write their state lottery and ask.

This is for the last two years for Illinois Litle Lotto, 2008 to 2009.Each state and game is different of course, but it appears this one is pretty consistent.

As of today, Feb 17, for 2010 its tied 16-16 between QP and Player Picks (PS, Player's Selections)

These were the 2008 results:

120 QP 82.19%

91 PS 62.32%

Fewer people play the games with the lower jackpot values so the five numbers only draws tend to not sell as many tickets and hence not produce as many winners per draw. For some reason people's attention are more drawn to a 100 million dollar jackpot then 23 thousand dollar jackpot.

You don't need official numbers from the lottery to get a decent idea of how many tickets are sold, if you know the odds and how many people win. Occasionally the winning numbers will be something that has results that don't match what probability predicts (such as the fortune cookie PB), but most results will do about what probability sugges... The reason for this is that Super Lotto has more tickets in play for a particular draw, hence even with longer odds, you get more winners. This is due to A. Super Lotto is far more popular than Fantasy 5, and B. Super Lotto is only twice a week, as opposed to daily. Hence, more winners in Super Lotto despite the odds. No conspiracy here.

I follow the lottery and where the winners are......I stopped playing about 2 years ago...the money I would have played is in a savings account...I have a couple grand saved....FYI no one in my local area has hit the jackpot on any of the NY games....I love lottery stories.....and I'm not hater of people who do play...

I have only seen multiple Fantasy Fiive winners when there is a large jackpot like 300-400K. I scratch my head and go Hmmmmm.

The smaller the jackpot the fewer players there are. As the jackpot gets higher more people purchase tickets. The more tickets sold the higher the possibility of multiple winners.

I have seen it mentioned many times here at lottery post that players only purchase tickets when the jackpot gets higher.

We have take five in NY....if the jackpot is around the 90k or above range one winner will win the jackpot the winner is usually from queens, kings or new york county all are in NYC proper and or Long Island ....however if it is a smaller amount there are usually 3 to four winners from counties outside the NYC /Long Island area....go figure...same thing can be said about the MM jackpot winners...

Thats what i think. If 3-4 ALWAYS get 5 numbers on a bonus game with 49 numbers, then why wouldnt that same amount get the jackpot in the Fantasy five non bonus game of 39 unless its manipulated at the last minute somehow. Odds are bad enough without a thumb on the scale as they say.

Me too. Some of the lotteries give *hints* that make one wonder if they're on the up and up . I almost wonder in the 11-15 min between the time they stop selling tickets here, and actually get the numbers drawn, if they're not re-drawing, and matching them up with how many winners they want for a particular night/how much they want to pay out. I'm sure it would only take a computer program a few minutes, to figure it all out, and opt for the numbers with the least amount of winners.

If I could play the Cash 5(1-34) here in VA, which has a $100,000 top prize...I am sure I could win frequently...I had a set of numbers I wheeled and didn't play ofcourse coz no extra money...but one of my numbers came up...I was upset. Any 5 + 1 game is actually two lotteries in one, or a lottery parlay. If you get the 5 + 5 you still have to get the 1 of however many, and it ain't easy MCGee, as they say.

In the Pick 5, Illinois (5/39) has had a jackpot over over $1,000,000 a couple of times. I don't remember how many people hit when it was that high but I know one time it was a shared jackpot for sure.

The most I've ever seen share a Pick 5 jackot was 6.

Okay, so I was just noticing something. States have their 5of 6 plus bonus games and the pick five ( or our Fantasy Five) games right? Okay, the 5/49 plus a bonus almost ALWAYS have 3 or 4 people win 5 without the bonus numbers. ,giving them a small share of around 20-30K, right?

Now, you take the Fantasy Five, which doesn't have a bonus number and only 39 numbers. There is almost always ONLY one winner that wins the 50 to 350K jackpot.
