Don't quit. If you like the game, just keep playing. Get yourself some kind of book, winning system (that helped me tremendously) but be aware of scammers.

It took me 5 months to win something, but I was in pretty desperate situation, but I still kept playing.

Me and a co-worker/pool member were just talking about this this morning. We're both tired of not winning anything, not even small amounts. I'v been playing over 20 years and would like to win small amounts (more than a dollar or two please) sometimes. For now, I'm only playing in my pools, unleast until the jackpots get big again. Or until the frustration goes away.

But I will NEVER GIVE UP.

If it were me, I'd probably just keep playing. It couldn't hurt to put a dollar or two into each drawing. But it is your money and only you can decide if you should continue to play or not.

I am sure that the combinations will repeat, and based on my observations, sometimes Pick-3 numbers go up to 8,000 draws without showing up. Every state has a few Pick-3 numbers that haven't come up in 5,000 drawings or more, and most probably have one that hasn't come up in 6,000 or more. 342 has not hit in West Virginia (1 drawing a day Mon-Sat) since 1988. It took over 8,000 draws for 950 to hit the first time in Connecticut, and 373 went over 8,000 draws and 14 years without winning in Michi... [ More ]

It took me 21 years to get 4 of 6 on the 6/xx games here. I have NEVER won 500 or 5000 on the 3 or 4. I missed winning those a few times by not buying tickets but I would still be behind. If I wanted $500 I could save it so I dont play pick 3. If I wanted $5000 that would take me way longer to save but I dont play pick 4 cause it would cost me more in the long run.

yeah most people say play what you can afford to lose. cut your bets down till you dont mind losing it. i usually play only $9 a week, put an extra on a jackpot game $13 this week. hopefully it goes off cuz i dont wanna spend $13 next week on the jackpot game.

And it is a game you can actually get something out of if you win. Like my brother pays $14.99 a month to play World Of Warcraft...I'd rather spend the $15 a month playing the lottery...having fun trying to win it.

look at this post: look at the spread of MegaMillions in the link is mostly from 1-34 most of the time but if you take the 2 preceeding drawings you will noticed that they dont repeat on the actual drawing making megamillions a: 1-24 game range...Actually a 1-21 game because megamillions is from 1-56 originally not from 1-59...

Something your math guy could do is here in LP they make prediction and many times they are off by 1 number they will have 4/5 but the 5th number they will be off by less then 3 numbers for Pick5 i am thinking if you are: off by 1 number your math guy could figure out a way to add the other 2 numbers and this happens like every week also a lot of them get: 3/5 s with wheels less than 12 so if he can figure out a way to harness the 3/5 and add them to the other 2 numbers of the rest of the range

I always forget this...If you are a regular person and dont know anything about lottery, play pick3 if you noticed you are very good at it try pick4 and if you want to try Powerball...POOL, THAT S THE BEST THING TO DO...POOL WITH PEOPLE...

if you cant afford a pool then just spend: $24 a year 1 quick pick every 2 weeks and play it advanced....

I've been playing and losing even longer than you but I enjoy playing and dreaming of beating the odds, it's entertainment. If you have doubts about playing the lottery then you would probably be better off to quit and start spending your entertainment dollars on something you enjoy more.

Once out of curiosity, I calculated what the likely median time I had to wait before winning the Texas Two Step if I played five lines per draw twice a week. It worked out to be 2,442 years and the Texas Two Step has odds of 1 in 1.8 million as opposed to Mega Millions 1 in 175 million or PowerBall's 1 in 195 million. 12 years is nothing in terms of lotteries.

May I suggest you change your focus. You are probably dreaming of what you will do after you collect the jackpot and that dream takes you to the ticket counter day after day. Since the dream has not come true, you are thinking about quiting. I suggest you do quit buying lotto tickers and look elsewhere to find your dream.

Please don't quit---I've played a lot longer than you and I'm not about to give up!!By all means, stay in the fight--I know it can be frustrusting especially when you heard of certain lottery players who play and it the big jackpot right away-i.e. beginner's luck--but keep in mind the very second/minute you stop playing or give up, that is when your numbers will definitely come in--KEEP ON TRUCKING AND BELIEVING

How much are you spending a week? At least $11 for the 3 games that you play right? IMO that's not bad considering people spend more than that on Starbucks/ Coffee Bean coffee. But if you're spending $20 or more and not breaking even or at least get back half then I would say stop playing or just play MM twice a week and only spend $2.

If you were playing F5 everyday for 12 years, you have already spent over $4300 and that's if you only bought 1 ticket/ 1 line per day.

If you have been playing the same set for 12 years then don't quit. YOu'll really feel bad WHEN they hit. I you have been playing just random number or QPs then I say let it go and count your losses.

Your post above is probably true for 99.99% of lottery players, just change the number of years played.

Follow the advice given here, especially when rdgrnr said if it's not fun for you then don't play.

No one should ever play jackpot games assuming they are going to win. We hope to win, sure, we'd like to win, of course, but assuming a win is another story.

If it's not fun for you then stop.

If it's a money thing (affording it) then just play the minimum to have a shot and increase it only when you start getting lucky on the small prizes. It's just my opinion but I believe there is an ebb and flow to luck and you need to expose yourself to the flow when it's there.

I have been playing the lottery now for about 12 years, and so far, I have NEVER won anything substantial. I play Fantasy 5 everyday, Mega Millions twice a week, and with the Power Ball in now in Georgia, I am all over the Power Ball, too.
