Powerball's annuity actually rolled $8 million, which is the highest one roll record for the game, and the first time it's rolled by more than the preset minimum since the restructured annuity. In fact, its second draw cash jackpot of $13.6 million is even larger than Mega Millions' of $12.4 million.

Powerball is actually having higher rolls than Mega Millions now. Both Powerball and Mega Millions had a jackpot won on their tenth draws in their runs. Last Saturday, Powerball's cash jackpot awarded was $101 million (annuity $211 million). The Friday, March 5 Mega Millions cash jackpot awarded was $83 million ($134 million annuity). I was updating and checking my PowerBall file in anticipation of it starting in Ohio next month and found a couple of duplicate combinations. I checked USAMega PB file and found they weren't mistakes.

To match Powerball, Mega Millions should start its jackpots at $16 million and have minimum rollovers of $4 million (since the cash options for those figures in MM would be comparable with Powerball's cash options for its opening jackpots and minimum rolls of $20 million and $5 million). Of course, if Mega Millions did that, it would probably increase its matrix to over 200 million combinations too.

i say 250m to 260m looks about right

am so happy we have a 200m level jackpot,

where in range where it can take off like a rocket

we are only 2 rolls away to 300m range when the magic begins

with all these players i say we could could go form say 260m to 390m jackpot cap,

really with all these players we could only be 3 rolls away to new records folks

so enjoy the high jackpot while it lasts , we wont be seeing it again anytime soon

Well crap, I meant to hit 260 above and hit 270 so I'll go 270! It seems like when the jackpot games get in the 200's the media hypes it up and everyone buys that 1 OR 5 tickets.
