a box wheel for Pick4, using 5 numbers comes out to: 5 tickets...All you have to do is guess the smallest number of the spread and count from there...

From this I assumed a spread of 5 meant 5 digits and from there it looked like Pumpi meant just six spreads; 1-5, 2-6, 3-7, 4-8, 5-9, and 6-0.

On the other hand you could be correct because Pumpi's systems are usually clear as mud.

I've always used 0 as low but it's Pumpi's system and they say 0 is high.

I believe Pumpi is talking about a 5 digit spread based on the low digit where for instance the low digit is 1 so the high digit is 5. They also gave a very loose example that included all hits within any of the 6 spreads and doubles. Playing any one of the spreads using each digit once has 5 combinations so basically Pumpi is asking Why haven't we won base on their results that nobody could win playing just 5 combos without defining which one of the six spreads to play.

I'm not sure if know what you're talking about because there are 6 different spreads: 1-5, 2-6, 3-7, 4-8, 5-9, and 6-0.

If you're going to include doubles there are 35 box combinations in each spread. That of course would raise your chances to win providing you guess the right spread.

Where is your system that shows which spread to play because without one your playing strategy is useless.

You're correct, using each digit only once, 5 digits do in fact create 5 box combinations, however you highlighted doubles and three triples in your example. To be accurate (and honest), if you're going to include doubles as wins , you have to include the cost of playing all the doubles too. That brings the total to 35 combinations.

According to Pumpi in the first post (spread between the smallest number and the biggest number) . I'm assuming he means when the lowest number is 1 and the highest is 6, 2 - 7, etc. Some of the results he highlighted had spreads of less than 5 and he missed several others. He asked so why haven't we won without any idea of how many combinations are involved or if it's even a realistic bet.

Last time I saw him, he was ranting about lottery criminals.
