If they do suspend the state lottery, protest by supporting another state lottery, and let them know. Not only will they be forgoing revenue, they will be generating revenue for other states.

Whatever they do, it would be crazy to suspend the lottery, that would put the state even more in the red. It may be necessary to suspend, cut or cancel some services, but lets keep the cash cow going. Let's not throw common sense totally out the window

Michigan was going to shut down the lottery a couple years ago for lack of funds.

They had a long list the casinos , the racetracks, the lotteries anything that fell under the jurisdiction of the lottery. EXCEPT !!!!!!!!!!! THE BINGO HALLS . Best case I've heard for choosing the Lump Sum payment. Take your money and get out of there!! The way NY State Taxes and Spends the peoples money the state is near bankrupt. Not to mention the spending in Washington DC...... So even if the state gov't can afford your annuity payments ...with the inflation your money isn't going to be worth jack in 20-25 years.
