LOL My dad put me on a show called Birthday House blowing up balloon animals, no real warning or idea what I was supposed to do or say besides blow my brains out. Lotteries are not new. Colonial America held lotteries as one method of raising tax revenues. Lotteries served many and various purposes. Sometimes lotteries were used to raise funds to build a hospital.

Since security has to have that information to verify the winners' tickets, it's available somewhere and if someone in security is dishonest, they can find it. That what the security person at the Indiana lottery did a few years ago. His buddies who went to the town to buy the whole roll of tickets got caught and told on him.

I'm going out on a limb here because I didnt get any info directly from the New York State Lottery commision, but some things are obvious.

Whether I buy a QP or use a play slip, the transaction will be recorded in a database stored on a central sever. The local terminal might be the source of the numbers of a QP, but it has to report the transaction to the central office. The same would be true if I used a play slip.

Thanks for the honest replies. I don t know either about how things are done but somehow and someway the QP s printed are of record to validate winners at the Central Office.

So if they are generated locally, then a report has to go the CO.

If they originate from the CO in packets, then that would confirm what was observed by some players who had identical QP s for the same game. Are we just under the impression that the QP s are all the combinations if enough tickets are

You're correct, duplicate QP numbers can an do exist.

In New York, it's not uncommon for duplicate QP numbers to win jackpots. NY lottery tickets are paid on a pari- mutuel basis. If there are two jackpot winners, the jackpot is split 50/50 regardless of what type(s) of ticket won.

I should apologise. My information regarding the RNG being installed on the terminal at the lottery retailer is only second hand. I do not get it directly from The New York State Lottery.

I know someone who is a licensed lottery retailer. It was they told me the RNG is installed on the terminal in their store. However, I cant positively say they got that info from The NY State Lottery. The fact is I dont know how or where they got that info, though I dont have any reason to doubt them.

That last paragraph- is that fer sure? I mean really fer sure that the RNG is local to the terminal? I was under the impression the QP s were generated and loaded remotely to the terminal and were replaced as needed by sales. How would 16,000 terminals keep from the event of printing several jackpots before exhausting the entire pool? Anybody know if QP s split jackpots on small QP sales?

I should clarify. As I stated in the first part of my statement, no one can control ping pong balls. And yes, most winners are going to be in the most highly concentrated areas, hence SW 8th St or Flagler in Miami.

When it comes to raffles and scratch-offs, however, I think there's no question they're spreading the wealth.

It's not ALL luck Tiggs. Knowledgeable folks can influence their chance of hitting. Surely luck is a major factor, but patterns do exist, and can be taken advantage of to increase the chances of winning.

An extreme example would be the following. Imagine If I bought every possible combo in the Fantasy Five in Florida, which is about 376,000, and won the JP, would you call that luck

As a resident of upstate New York (not Buffalo) I always disliked the fact that the majority of the press releases for NY's online lottery games show the county where a winning jackpot ticket was sold as either the eight counties that make up the New York City metropolitan area or Erie County. I suppose the question could be asked why Ohio has two PB jackpot winners since it started cross selling PB tickets and yet Florida who has sold more than four times as many tickets during that same period had none?

It's the same in all states that have huge population areas where many people work there. Somebody might live in a small Illinois town population 750 but work in Chicago and that's where they buy their lottery tickets. When you look it probability, it's obvious that if 75% of the tickets are sold in Chicago or Miami, over time 75% of the winners will come from those areas.

I have to disagree with your theory about spreading the winners around. Consider that most jackpot winners are quick picks. Now unless you're saying that the lottery powers that be are saying something like, Look, someone in that town with a population of 256 just bought a QP, let's make sure it wins , then the theory isn't valid.

One of the 5 + 1 games covers this on their FAQ page. How come the winner is always in _ _ _ _ _?

If you avoid scratch-off and raffle tickets and stick with games with ping pong balls drawings in which the winning combinations aren't known until after the drawings then you don't have to worry about that. In such games anyone can pick the winning combinations.

Debates and opinions never produced anything but an argument let alone a reliable lottery system. If players believe such system are possible then they should work on developing one and not waste time arguing about it.

Regardless, I believe winning any of the lottery games is less about trapping the right numbers than it is about when and where you play.
