I played 20 lines from 83 that I picked and only got a 3/6 for $2, but I did notice the 83 lines had a 4/6 that I rejected so maybe I will adjust my reject rules and try again next Monday if no one wins by then. On Wednesdays and Saturdays I will be playing PowerBall as long its jackpot continues to roll. Twenty lines three times a week is about as far as I wish to stress my lottery budget.

Before MM and PB came to Ohio I drove to Michigan to play BigGame and Indiana to play PB but I always kept a stash of play slips for each game at home and filled them out before making the drive. I still do that even though I now play them locally.

I am trying to win. The closest I've gotten is 4 out of 6. I do better when I play my own numbers but for some reason will go with quick picks after some of my numbers come up a lot, which is often.

Last year, when it got up to $20 something million, I had the numbers 2, 10, 32, 35, 41, and 48 to play. I was living in Michigan at the time and drove to Toledo to play. I can't figure, there were 440 OCL predictions on the prediction page and with overall odds of 1:54 of having a winning ticket there were only 3 winning tickets and they were only matched 3's. This OCL jackpot could roll a long time before anyone wins it. Oh well, there's PB and if OCL hasn't been hit by next Monday, maybe I will play it again then.

Since the OCL cash value is 50% of the jackpot, it will have to reach $28M before anyone trys that. Besides when the Australia group tried to buy all the possible combinations of the Virgina lottery they needed a crew of several bonded players, three terminals for three 24 hrs days and all their play slips printed up in advance and still only managed to play a little over eight million combinations.

I think a lot of players have a similar idea. Even though no one won the jackpot, the payout was the largest it has been since the last jackpot was one. Unfortunately I wasn't among those who won a prize even though I played 20 lines. I may only play 10 lines this Monday.

If I was in Ohio I would be playing Ohio Classic Lotto a lot because of the odds. I drove up to the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border to buy a hot lotto sizzler ticket because its at 14 mil at 1 in 11 mil odds for 3 plays 10 draws.

I agree. I used to do very well playing Michigan's Classic Lotto 47 game. I would win $5 at least once every three plays. But with the OCL, I have not had any success, sans once or twice.

The biggest prize I ever won was $1500 playing the old 649 Super Lotto in 2002, that's the reason I still play OCL when the other jackpots are low. But when it come to smaller amounts $300 and less, I've done better playing MM and PB. Match 3 for $2 is hard. I wish Ohio paid $5 for a match3 like Michigan does for their 647 game.

No, I tend to do better with the larger games than I do with OCL though I think it is far easier to win the OCL jackpot than it would be to win the MM or PB jackpots. I have played OCL over the last two months and have not won anything. It is a bit frustrating but with the jackpot at over $15 million, it's really the best bet in town right now. As you stated, Powerball has been reset so it just makes more sense to play OCL. That said, I do think I will hit the jackpot on either the MM or OCL bef... [ More ]

I can't figure out why I always do better with PB. At the last minute I decided to put $10 on both PB and OCL which I also posted on the prediction board. For OCL I matched 1 four times for nothing and for PB I matched 2+1 for $7. Seems like half the time I play PB in spite of the higher odds I win something and most of the time I play OCL, I win nothing. It's as if the odds don't mean anything when it comes to winning the lower prizes in these games.

Classic Lotto continues to grow and now that it's Monday and MM and PB aren't played today, it make a good alternative to start off the week. It's jackpot is only $14.9M but so are its odds. Its annuity amount of $300K a years isn't bad either.

Last night CL winning numbers had the smallest range I've ever seen in the history of 6/49 games in Ohio including its SuperLotto game. Just when I thought I have a handle on picking some possible winning combinations, random tricks me again.

Now that its jackpot is at $11.0M, Classic Lotto should attract enough players to be won during the next drawings or two.

I noticed that 44/49 numbers have hit in the last 14 drawings and 47/49 in the last 19 drawings, it took 65 previous drawings to cover all 49 numbers. When looking at the history its 583 drawings 18% of the time all 6 winning numbers had hit 1-3 times in the previous 19 drawings and 21% of the time all 6 winning numbers had hit 1-3 times in the previous 14 drawings.

Well I done with Classic Lotto for a while, at least until next Monday. I picked two groups to play, one 19 lines and the other 20 lines. I played the 19 lines and won nothing and had I played the 20 lines I would had match 3 for $2. I noticed on the prediction board there were 150 predictions and no winners too so I guess that CL is hard to win. You've obviously had read the Ohio lottery website and know that Classic Lotto is a 6/49 game played every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
