I read that buying lottery tickets was a waste of money but the writer was going by the facts that less than 3% of the possible combinations will pay anything for any particular drawing, so that's true most times.

I never won anything more than 3/5 or 3/6 numbers. A few days after I started posting my picks online on LP, I hit 4/5 on a Cash 5 for a $200 win, which was the best lotto win I ever had. Needless to say, I continue to post picks. Posting them or not posting them doesn't affect the draws.

I've heard some pretty ridiculous things said about posting picks, I thought I saw on LP a post where someone questioned whether people at the lottery commisions look at the predictions here, as if they were... [ More ]

I read in a thread once you join lottery post you will never win a jackpot. I hope that is not true

Posting your picks doesn't change the odds of them being drawn and if your picks are for one of the jackpot games then they aren't likely to come up regardless of what you do as can be verified by checking the top predictors statistics.

For Example - Today is Feb 14. There are going to be a million people playing the 214 today. Do you think the lottery officials and its staff does not know this? Pre-Draw time. Now there is always a possibility of that number being drawn but believe me they will do best they can to prevent this from happening.

we had a superstition thread awhile back, I post because it's fun, and in the pick 3 mich thread I play what I post. I don't think a michigan loterry official is looking at our numbers trying to decide whose turn it is to win, everyday someone wins and sometimes we have multiple winners. like I said it's fun.

I stopped posting numbers because I do not want people to lose money due to the numbers I posted. If I have a good feeling about a number I will post it. Yesterday I posted 475 would repeat in the evening draw and it did. I don't know if any members played it.

I Agree with this short and simple answer.

It comes down superstition. You already planted a seed that if you post it will not be drawn

Therefore it does not matter if you post or not. If its gonna Hit its gonna Hit.

But I still feel that there is some sort of manipulation with the drawings. I am not saying outright cheating, but I do consider tube rotations, ball set changes etcc a sort of manipulation. They wouldn't do it if it was in the players favor.

I Agree with you. But Pre-draws and Tube rotations are a form of manipulation.If not they would not do it. For example if the 214 is Drawn in a pre-draw chances of it being drawn again during the official draw is much more slim.

The lottery has no control over the lottery balls in those machines when they are drawn.

Computerized drawings have been debated wether they can control the outcome.

I have noticed a lot of people are not posting picks anymore because they are afraid that if they post their numbers they wont be drawn. I would love to hear opinions on this matter especially from the veteran posters that hit regularly.

Here is my take.

I post numbers almost daily, sometimes I get hits sometimes I don't. Sometimes I play numbers that I don't post and once again sometimes I hit sometimes I don't.I was thinking about this last night.
