I did something like this once, writing a program to simultaneously backtest 36 variations of a single pick-3 idea.

The coding skill developed in the process was more impressive than the results of the test.

If you would explain what you are doing on paper, it would be enough to spark some feedback on what can be done in Excel or by a program. I have no interest in stealing your idea, but am always interested in investigating new ideas.

Everyone feels there method is gold. However I have written over a 1000 programs for the pick 4.

One idea is rarely enough to win consistently.

What gives me a chuckle is that folks who have something that might be worth stealing will send you the whole system for help with just one line, while others who have just the first bare inklings of an idea, and can't even do a for-next loop get all Secret Agent Man with it.

Use to be no one into Pick3 games ever worried about anyone running off with their ideas, after all it wasn't like their ideas were going win a big jackpot. Things have changed, pick3 players are now willing to pay more for pick3 programs than they could ever win using them according to some of the threads I've been reading lately in the pick3 forum.

Well, there ya go. If you're worried someone may run off with your idea, buy MSExcel or download OOCalc for free.

They both let you write extra custom code in them.

There are others, too. Some with and others without the spreadsheet added.

In my august opinion Excel is the greatest lottery program available. With it, you write your own algorithym.

There are numerous websites that will aid you in learning how to use the VBA program which comes with Excel and there are people here who will be more than happy to share their knowledge of VBA programming with you.

So buy a copy of Home and Student Office from MicroSoft. The only way you regret such a purchase will be if you don't make the effort to do something with it.

i will cross that bridge if I get to it. Anything I do I wil make sure I copyright. What price are you talking about?

I'm not selling anything. I can still do it with pen and paper, and everyday I work on it to try to make it easier I just find out if I don't hit my M hard they don't show up.

Getting one to sign a confidential clause will increase the price plus if it really works there's no guarantee it wouldn't be duplicated in another program and sold.

No need to purchase Office, just go to http://download.openoffice.org/ and get the latest version. They have a program similar to Excel, but I believe they call it Calc. Then you could at least experiment with the RAND function.

It would probably be helpful if you posted and explained the complete workout you did using paper and pen including the information you plugged in and its sources along with the results you got and how it will be used.
