This thread makes me wonder, for those in a situation where it's cheaper to keep her (or him) would a jackpot be a major score, as in , Gods of freedom I'm yours , or would it take cheaper to keep her and put it on steroids?

As for the question in the OP, I do think that if it wasn't a jointly owned ticket and only one spouse had played it or signed it, and there was a divorce, that the non-winner would eventually come back asking for more.

I'm already divorced but if I were still married to the same man I would not divorce him just because I won the lottery! I would think the money would be for the both of us.

I think it'd be better to split it IN the divorce rather than split it and THEN divorce. With some of these lawsuits I've seen on the internet I wouldn't be surprised if you split with your wife/husband and then they tried to sue you after the divorce for half your stuff.

But to answer the question, no. If I were to get married it would be with someone I wouldn't want to just leave because one of us got a ton of money.

If you answer yes to this poll, then you have to ask yourself, why are you waiting to win the lottery if you are that unhappy? You are much better off splitting, THEN winning the lottery. You get to keep the whole thing then! I'm just saying...........
