Kentucky Cash Ball 4+1 = 1:1,268,520 to win the same $200,000 as matching 5+0 in PB. Some states have pick-5 games that pay even more with much better odds of 575,757 to 1 if jackpots under $1/2 million are your cup of tea.

I believe the odds charts on state websites are not viewed or are ignored because for most players it's a dollar for a dream regardless of the odds.

I play both but i'm not wild about the fact that the la state lotto numbers are picked and noone gets to watch it happen. I guess they do it by computer. Then I can never find info on who won it and which city they were in. Kinda fishy to me. Someone in New Orleans won $97 on the PB not too long ago and never claimed the $$$. That was also weird to me. I would love to know where that $97 million ended up? I hope they aren't scamming people.

Ohio Classic Lotto last two wins were within one draw of each other. The first one was after almost two years without a winner. The first jackpot was for over $50M and the second one was for $1M. The payouts per drawings doesn't vary very much because of some faithful players who prefer the better odds of winning a jackpot that continue to play regardless of the jackpot size.

anyway i see that oh. state game has same odds.

nj. has a tendency to not hit til it exceeds 6m. or higher

i suspect thats account of ppl. not buying tics. til. it gets up there.

wonder if you notice same.

No question, the state games have the best odds of winning a jackpot but if winning smaller prizes more often is fun PowerBall beats them all. Just look at their overall odds of winning a prize.

No matter the game the most common result is you will hit the amount of numbers that do not pay anything, in a Pick 5, 0 or 1, in a Pick 6, 0, 1 or 2, etc......

State lottos generally have a smaller pool of numbers (In California, SuperLotto is 1-47 vs Mega Millions' 1-56) so odds are better. Of course, I'd rather win a 5+0 in MM which is usually at least a 6 figure jackpot
