As you probably read from subsequent posts, It was one of each. The number I chose Iv'e always and will continue to play. Will always do QP's as well.

I know of 2 people who have won the lottery not personally, but both from my hometown. The mail lady took a trip to myrtle beach, bought a lottery ticket and won a million dollars. She is still delivering the mail and a very down to earth person. Oh, her take home was about 680,000.

The other..a man won the powerball lottery..88 million and took home about 44 million. He moved and bought a house on the lake among other things. To my knowledge, the money has not gone to his head.

A group of people that worked at the local Clerk of Court office won the Ohio Lottery about 20 years or so ago. I know one of them personally. They all took the annual payments, I think they each got about $35k a year after taxes. You wouldn't know it now. Most of them kept working.

I know of two people that won.. the one couple I know personally hit for $13M on an easy pic... the other guy is the brother of a close friend.. and he won the lottery twice within a couple of years I think and it was for $1M each time.. and again he won with easy pics.

Funny you should ask, I actually played them again a couple of times, including about 20 of the last winning numbers for Powerball (at that time, this was like 2 years ago).

I don't' think even 2 numbers came up for all those plays. They say statistically the odds for the same numbers coming up again with a big game like PB or MM's is astronomical at best. I've never seen my winning #'s come up again. (yet).

At that time Powerball was the only game I was playing. I had the same ritual every Wednesday Saturday. 2 lines on one ticket, one was my pick, the other a QP. My budget was for $4/week.

The winning number for the 5+0 drawing was (2-23-24-27-36), and it was a QP.

can't recall the details just now,

one big JP was won around jan. 2009.

following june legislature passed a 10.8 % tax,

and the worst part,it was retroactive to jan.1st 2009.

akin to changeing the rules in the middle of the game.

That was killed about a year ago. This was probably a once in a lifetime tax assessment for NH, because of the unprecedented economic downturn

in the last 4 years, which had severely affected the nation as well as the states economic performance.

NH still is a Tax-Phobic State .

about 10 years ago a carpenter that i work w/ at the hotel won 25gs he promptly bought a 27 foot sportfisher don't know the make,still has it.

also i suspect,but can't prove that my cousin won big,

cause he retired from his steamfitter job at 55 and moved to a small town

far away (about 10 hours behind wheel)

where he did't know anyone,

which is one of the smartest things you can do w/ a big win.

I don't now these people outside of lottery post but I do know them here and they win big. Mcginnin won a 2nd prize PB in 07' (you lucky devil lol) and Rock City, a poster from our Dream Team thread hit the Pick 4 straight 3 times 50/50.

i dont know any personally, but know of 2 winners. 15 mill powerball, and $3 mill something else.

both could have been happier with the way things turned out. estranged families seem a common event where people think you should have or could have given them more, or invested the way they say to. ridicule when things go wrong.

I had a entry level job back in the 90's which we had a client that had won the lottery. Their account with the firm had been frozen 6 months after they opened it as they didn't pay ANY bills and every creditor they had was suing them to get paid. They had an annuity coming in so every year it came in you would see 5 or 10 judgments get paid out and THEN the client could access the money. It was really sad.

How many of you know someone that has won a fairly big amount of money playing the lottery? Im talking about a minimum of say 25 thousand. I know 2 people that have hit cash 25 here in WV for 25k. One of tham had 2 tickets with same combo so he hit for 50 k. 2 people that hit the first 5 on the powerball for 100 k.
