Take care of family with winnings after paying about 1/2 in taxes. Getting close to retirement here. Like to spend summers in Alaska and high-tail it back down south to Texas for winters. Like to help out the people in southern Indiana that got hit with the bad wx. Still got a soft spot for Indiana.

Opening a business?? Had a Pack-n-Ship Store for a couple years. Buy low and sell high, keep expenses to a minimum helps the business stay in business.

The Volt has been plagued with problems from the start. Why would someone want to pay $40,000 for a Chevy that looks and has the room

As a big lover of all animals, giving back to all area ASPCA and animal shelters in the form of donations and increasing

their labor force would also be very high on my list.

Be careful who you give your money to in this area. Often very LITTLE goes to the animals like 1%. Much of it goes to preventing you from eating a hamburger.

HSUS is a rip off organization.

Much better opening your own facility.....

I hear ya on the choice Kapla....the benefit of choice doesn't pay the maker to have a more expensive product sit idle on the shelf and not sell unless you have the finances for that option. Of course a lottery win affords you that option, but the everyday working stiff has budget limits. That being said.....I think the maintain option is more prevalent than the create , other than hiring personal staff.

So you are saying that if there were two similar products on the shelf and one was made in China for $1 and the other had the American flag on it saying Made in USA and was $3, most people would buy the $1 one just to SAVE money. Me, I just want the CHOICE of where products are made, so would like to see more American Made products on the shelf.

I'm looking at it on the other side. I would only think of creating a business with the current administration in place. No double dip, things SLOWLY improving, the firt thing the the Rs would do is create a recession. The Rs get in there I would build my remote bug out location dump my money into gold and relax on my property while the world collapses.

I would be more likely to donate in a big way to good causes like Wounded Warriors and Salvation Army and St Judes Childrens Hospital and others.

Also to funds that are working on cures for catastrophic diseases.

This is a very interesting topic.

My most honest answer would be I don't know or maybe create jobs indirectly somehow.

Let's face it, a lottery jackpot is a major, probably once in a lifetime score. One definition of financial freedom is always having the money to do what you want to do when you want to do it.

So opening a store or anything else that would make you still a slave to a clock or business hours doesn't exactly fir that definition.

If you buy product A which is made in China/Korea ect then you do create 'work' for the workers in the factory's in those countries, shippers of the goods and then retailers of the end product.

then build a big garage, 12 cars parking section isolated from the shop area, inside car wash.

i can do carpentry work but still need to hire others to get it built faster, (impatience)

I would open a soup kitchen ,and a food pantry,and help the poor with basic needs.Once I meet people that use what I offer,I would find ways to better there lives,like education,jobs, and transportation to jobs and doctor appointments.

Along the way find new investors to keep this program going.

I would buy some land and go get all the permits and everything you need to do to build a housing addition.

Then hire all the people you build a house from carpenters to plumber and everyone in between,

The guideline I would use for someone to move in would be the following

I think everyone that wins creates jobs for others in one way or another (unless of course he/she stuffs their winnings under a mattress). Whether it be the house they get built, the car/s they buy, spending money always spurrs job growth. So I think to some degree, EVERYONE should be clicking yes. As far as directly employing people, that answer for me would be yes as well. I would invest in distressed houses and hire people to help me fix them up.
