As of 2PM in an oriental store in San Diego, the jackpot is already $540M. Aother 4 hours, on ABC news, a store in NY shows $550M. MM tickets are selling at a rate $10M an hour. I will not be surprise if it hits $600M Friday 7PM.

Changing strategy? Last time I just chose quick picks because I didn't happen to have my MM cards with me when I had time to stop for tickets, but this time I plan to use my own favorite numbers. Powerball lost my business when they doubled their ticket price. I'm not going to pay $2 for a game with outrageous odds. I have to wonder how many other people simply quit playing it too.

Actually, the odds of matching all five white balls are about 1 in 3.9 million, not 5 million. You're thinking of Powerball. The draw should have actually produced 49 match 5+0 winners, so the results for that level were about what was expected.

Although I usually wait until the draw date to get my ticket, I'll have to get mine today to beat the crowds! Interestingly enough though, there were no lines yesterday at 7:45 AM when I got my ticket for last night's draw.

If you don't have other plans for next week, here's an experiment you could try. Shuffle a deck of cards, draw a single card and check it off on a list of all 52 cards. Put it back in the deck, shuffle, draw another card, and check it off the list (or add a 2nd check to the first if you get the same card). Repeat another 102 times. I think MUSL progams each state mainframe to spit out the combination 1 2 3 4 6 +5 every 500th ticket...that way they increase sales and dont have to worry much about the jackpot getting hit...

or paying many 5 number matches...

i wonder if it probably has to do with the servers...the servers that store the info regarding tickets sold...probably somebody here has access...or better yet OWNS those servers... maybe thats why legalized gambling in new jersey is so interesting to some people at LP.

In my observation, the Powerball site and USA Mega are the first to be updated. I don't know if any state sites are faster, but I haven't found any, and I have tried to.

I think there is no need to adjust your game play by increasing the bets, you just have to choose more right numbers for next time(s) !

Unless I win it next friday, it will roll 1 time more to $600m :)

It doesn't matter the odds - it's not guaranteed that if 175,711,936 tickets are sold that every combination will be sold. Take the drawing that had 68 2nd place winners - not one had the MB number.. that means SOME had to duplicate.
