I figured it a different way but the results are close to yours. The odds of matching the bonus number are 75 to 1 so there should be at least one jackpot winner for every 75 5 + 0 matches. They don't give out statistics of the most favored bonus number and that would change the expected number of jackpot winners.

If it does roll there's no way if won't be well past a billion on Tuesday. Assuming society continues to function.

Right now we're looking at an increase of about $285 million from the last drawing (figuring it will top out at 650). That's about $204 million cash, which means they now expect to sell roughly 635 million tickets. With odds of about 1 in 3.9 million, we should expect about 165 5+0 winners. When it's all said and done we could see 200, especially if we get alot of birthday numbers.

I remember when David Edwards won the Powerball in 2001 the jackpot was $295 million and there was 4 winners. David Edwards is the only one people seems to remember because he lost it all in less than 5 years to drugs and lavish spending. I guess the other 3 winners got the proper advice.

I don't know... it just feels like the more this thing grows the less chance I have of winning. It's okay though, I'll be happy win a PB win (or even one that only gives me $10m).

Of course, that doesn't mean I'd refuse winning a couple hundred million...
