This is why I stay away from rolls. I could go out and cherry pick $300 bux worth of random $10 $20 tickets and get a decent amount back (Usually). Maybe even get a good $500 win and be ahead

I typically will spend $100 max and scratch them and see what kind of return I get. If I do crappy I will maybe buy 1-2 more and try and win some back. If I score a good win, I'll usually stop and only spend some of my winnings. My goal is always to stay ahead of at very least break even.

The key difference here is the expected return for the entire game versus expected return of a random pack. Here in CA, the high level games appear to return around 66% overall to the players but based on the winning tickets that you are likely to actually see, the return is around 40%. The top tier for many games here have between 10-20% of the prize pool, but only like .00008% of the tickets. I can't speak for ohio , but if they have the payout percentage listed

under complete odds it is normally inluding the top prizes. This makes it

look better to you than it is when looking at say buying a whole roll. I looked

at the $20.00 $150 million blockbuster and it says 75 percent payout , but that

would include the 8 top prizes of $2 million at the 100 k a year for 20 years. ( 3 remain ) .

So all im saying is if you were to get a roll for example you normally would not get 7... [ More ]

Never golt a 10/20 roll, but the store owner told me it is 50% at minimum here in PA. He says a guy buys them alot and usually returns $290-$320ish on a $600 roll unless he gets a $500+ win

Are all $10 and $20 scratchers have a 75% payout rate? I am in Ohio not sure if that makes a difference or not
