SERIOUS $$$ spent on Tickets

Our group has now spent almost $25, thousand dollars on the Ca Super Lotto since Aug 2011

we might stop playing when we hit 30 K and we have only won back about %15 percent of what was spent

Well, from what I read here, there are two reasons people give for jumping in at a certain jackpot point:

1) budget X only permits limited number of plays for jackpot games. However, I bet many of these individuals are out at the casino pulling the slots, smoking $6+ a pack cigarettes and drinking a 12 pack of Bud Light most weeks, as well as popping in .50 plays in pick 3 and pick 4 games, so I don't buy that reasoning.

The PB and MM get more news coverage and radio coverage the higher the jackpot gets, so lots of people don't play until they hear that the jackpot is 120 million. Then they make the effort to go play. Other than that, it's not important enough for them to go buy tickets on a regular basis.

Lottery players (Semi-regulars) forced PB to change the old game matrix to meet their demand for a higher starting jackpot. They are doing the same with MM, a $12M starting jackpot is too low for them to part with $1.

There's the type that aren't in the habit of playing the lottery like we are, so it doesn't occur to them to go out and buy a ticket unless a record is being approached and the hype machine kicks in. Okay, that's fair enough...I'll take it. But, what if this person has missed out on $4-5million on a regular old low jackpot for trying to hit the several hundred million deal? Yeah, it's a BIG IF. But, let's assume that's it's happened. What if they went back and checked some old tickets and found that they won on the regular state lottery...

Thanks, buddy...and the numbers don't lie which is what I'm getting at. If more people played when the pot is lower, more winners would be realized more frequently due to total combination sales. Make sense? But, noooooo, most people just have to have over $100 million. See how my point is manifesting itself on its' own?

What do you know about low playership versus high playership?

Let me try to explain it this way.

Higher jackpots= Higher playership=Higher #combinations being sold=Higher number of winners.

Remember Low playership versus High playership can be applied to the games odds etc.

New York sweet million game has better odds than ny lotto, MM, and PB but there is rarely any jackpot winners because of the low playership.
