Sounds like you never bother to check the information even it was ever in your inbox since it would have been a fairly simply task to check if results for your country lotteries were posted at LP.

Now I'm wondering if anything you've posted should be considered serious research or just some stories made up by you for entertainment.

Unlike what RJOh said, I do NOT buy data from someone else. Everything here is from my own proprietary data feed that I created myself. Years ago I did try using a pay service, but the data quality was awful.

Lottery post has more accurate and more complete results data available than any other web site or service.

I just wrote it, the American programs and sites that I checked use a database of drawings for the Belgian games that is not complete or even mixes with finished games. If stuff is going wrong for here, it is also going wrong for elsewhere.

So what did those programmers do? They paid someone somewhere to get those drawings. And there it is going wrong.

I get the Belgian stuff from the source, so I know what I am talking about. Paying a program or website for getting wrong automized input

It was fine and that was the basis for my judgement.

If you found errors then you should point them out rather than going by some he said statements. I find when one is making up stories usually the only proof they have to back them up are a bunch of he said and they said statements from no name sources.

Probably the data that you needed was fine! I had a chat with a member here about the Belgian lotto. He had the data from LP and I tell you that it wasn't correct.

We have sometimes extra drawings, the games changed in size and in payout. For keno we used to have a 20/80 and now we have a 20/70. Different games shouldn't be in the same database. So, basically the job wasn't well done. I don't know if you can download Keno, pick3, lotto, super lotto, extra lotto, joker and joker+ for Belgium i... [ More ]

Who ever does LP data files does a good job, at least they have away matched my files and I update them using the Ohio Lottery website. As a regular LP member I can check the last 10 drawings of any game but on USAMega anyone can check all the previous drawings of MM and PB.

A few years ago I came across a website that did that as a service with several formats for downloading the data but they charged for the services.

Todd has mentioned several times that he pays for such a service to maintain LP lottery data files. I think for websites that need daily updates for all the lotteries, it's a better option than personally checking each lottery website daily for the latest results.

I will try to program the download this summer. Some lotteries seem to boycott the downloading. There might be a central on internet where players could download all drawings from anywhere. The information must come from somewhere for the programmers.

I don't know if we has to go that far but working with what history is available some players seem to mine more data than others from the same sources.

The players who think such data could give them an edge in picking a winning combination can't really expect much help from the states since their main interest is enriching themselves, not the players.

in crappy Belgium i had to send about a dozen emails a few years ago to Belgian lotto site, to explain them how they should put up the files for download, because the dates and data were all messed up.

By the way, if you play Belgian Lotto or pick3, i advice you to go pay a visit to a brain doctor...

You make some excellent points. And I'm not certain that the various lotteries should make it a priority to provide this data in easily-downloadable forms. If an individual lottery wants to do so, that's fine, but I don't see why it should be required.

Besides, the data one seeks can be found if one looks hard enough. It may not be in TXT or CSV format, but it's out there. Todd has resources, both free and behind paywalls, and there are other lottery websites as well.

yes the issue here is downloadable files...and sticking to that point...

as soverigen states....each state would have to pass their own laws regarding internet distribution of lottery data...

when the new nationwide game is released maybe we would have a better website for that game....

generally i dont think official websites want you to win...they just want to use the site as marketing...

You have Microsoft and Apple based there. You should have the best stuff there.

In little crappy Belgium we get it all, online play, all files full history in CSV,

lotto drawings with movie, payouts in files, full key wheels playable by clicking,

full wheels, a ten wheel for 10 EUR which is not broken into combinations, quick picks ... .

As far as I know most lottery websites do archive their results in a text file. It just that most do as Ohio does and have all of them in the same text file so you have to separate them if you want them in separate files.

Ohio keeps the last 180 drawings separated by game which you can copy and paste to a text file.

You can download a trial copy of Lotto Pro which has updated files of all Canadian and US lotteries. This can only be done once since it only allows a free 15 day trial period once. If you want future updates, you'll have to buy the software.
