I turned in a play slip completely filled.. I guess there was a fold on one part of the ticket, and rather than the clerk ask me the number, he just picked something out himself.... Go figure it was the wrong number.... So either I leave my 5 self picks to be bought by somebody coz of one mistake, or I buy the right set of numbers.... I wasn't happy that day.. luckily I had the extra $2

My pet peeve just happened. There was a million dollar Powerball winner in Idaho. But the woman who won says she checked the numbers and knew she matched 5 white balls, but didn't know what it meant. You should tell them to give you the payslip and see what it says.

Especially if you can't see the readout and especially if they throw the payslip in the garbage right away.

And you're best off checking your numbers here before going to cash them in.

Don't trust the store scanners, they're notoriously unreliable and NEVER trust a lottery clerk.

My face scruches when the ticket seller prints out 10 seperate tickets with 1 number on each slip instead of asking if I want them seperated.

I used to get irritated because the readouts all over town were hidden so you had to take their word for it that you lost or when they throw away the slip and hand you $2 without showing the actual pay slip. Now I use the self-scaner and then turn in my winners.

When the clerk gets pissed off because I'm buying lotto for the week. I try my very best not to be in line when it is super busy. I also get irritated because he always rings up the non-lotto items first, and then the lotto. Why not do the lotto buy first. Having said that I have had no problems at the store down the street, will have to make sure to start going there instead.

I only know of one time when there were enough tickets sold that almost guaranteed someone would win the jackpot and that was the record $640 million MM jackpot. And since there were almost 652 million tickets sold for that drawing, it almost justifies not playing until players think the jackpot will be won because the amount sold for that one drawing paid for the jackpot. Went into a random gas station to get my $20 picks. I asked the clerk if they did the PowerBall drawing and he said yes and prints me out a $2 quick pick.

He didn't even asked me how many I wanted etc. After explaining I didn't want it, he argued about it with me. So I ended up paying the $2 for the quick pick. When a clerk goes ticket by ticket counting how much I owe. I can see what the machine reads on the tower, why

can't they? Some of these people don't have a clue. At the register, I can't stand when the clerk looks back and forth

My peeve is the conspiracy theorists. I think if someone believes the lottery commissions are crooked, then don't play.

mcherry, it may be that the clerk is counting the amount you owe for the tickets. When I get mine they look at each ticket for the cost.
