Ooops, I have to fix this before someone from Northstar reads it.

When I called and asked how many balls in the boel it was for Extra Shot in the lotto game, not EZMatch in Lucky Day Lotto.

Like I said , couldn't get anything specific from Northstar.

I also asked how many EZ Match Shot balls there were for Lucky Day Lotto and they paased the phone around until someone said, 25 .

To me, it falls under the same category as Powerball's lowest-tier prizes: matching just the Powerball gets you $4, and matching the Powerball plus one number gets you ... $4. Even though it is twice as hard to do the latter (1 in 55.41 for just the Powerball vs. 1 in 110.81 for the Powerball plus one number).

Todd? Maybe you could use you connections and solve this one.

I called the Illinois lottery and all I gopt was Extra Shot is a way for players to win more money.

They didn't even touch this, although I asked three times:

The odds of getting 1 + the Extra Shot are 1:62, pays $2

The odds of getting 0 + the Extra Shot are 1:54, pays $5

Illinois lotto now has an added $1 option, Extra Shot.

A seventh ball is drawn and if you have the right number (it's always a QP) it adds to the prizes.

This is what is a little odd, with the Extra Shot 1 number + the Extra Shot pays $2 but no numbers and the Extra Shot pays $5.

The odds of getting 1 + the Extra Shot are 1:62, pays $2

The odds of getting 0 + the Extra Shot are 1:54, pays $5

Purely a gimmick
