Welcome Fishy, as a few other members said Hot Lotto is a top multi state game after PB and MM. I like it cause it's only played in small population states and JP winning odds are 1 in 10.9M. It also uses a random number generator to draw the winning numbers unlike the other big multi-states that use the mechanical drum and ball technique. Yes, only one winning number set is drawn for all states.

Hot Lotto is the only other multi-state that has fairly high jackpots that I'm aware of, but it's only sold in a handful of states and I don't think NY is one of them.

Yessir, MM PB are multistate games. If you match the 5 balls and the extra ball, you hit the jackpot. It does not matter where you buy your ticket for these multistate games. The only problem is you can only cash your winning tickets in the states you bought them from. The most popular Multistate games are Powerball, MegaMillions, Hot Lotto.

I want to start playing lottery but I have some questions even after read the offical sites and wiki.

1) Is megamillion and powerball multistate? ( 1 winning number set for all states). Does it matter where I buy it?

2) What other popular multistate lottery are there?
