I buy the mistakes, because I don't want to regret it, just in case...

He might not have gone back to purchase the other one without the original mistake.

I know when I'm offered a mistake ticket I usually decline, but don't think for a second I'm not thinking about it possibly being a winner as I walk out the store and drive away. If I won another dollar I'd probably go back in there and purchase it where I would not have done so otherwise.

Imagine the thought of handing back a ticket worth that much money...just the thought of it gives me goosebumps!! Glad it worked out for him in the end though

I dont see the mistake I mean he gave the ticket back then went back and bought the same one he gave back and won...he got lucky

Congrats for the win, but how is that a mistake? All he simply did was win money from the original 7 tickets and go back and bought another. He could have done that without the clerk handing over the 8th. Had he originally kept the ticket and forked over another $20, then yes that would have been a mistake that paid out

DEPEW, N.Y. (AP) A convenience store clerk's mistake has paid off in a big way for a western New York man.

Fifty-three-year-old Jerry Kajfasz (of Lancaster won a $10 million jackpot from a $20 scratch-off ticket he purchased last month at a suburban Buffalo store.

He tells local media outlets he bought seven scratch-off tickets but the clerk nearly handed him an eighth one costing $20. Kajfasz caught the mistake and handed it back.
