And those of us who live upstate are really sick and tired of NYC LI getting all the wins. Even taking into account the fact that NYC alone makes up over 40% of the state's population (and it gets up to well over 50% if you add on LI), you'd think you'd see more winners upstate.

Actually, Vermont and North Dakota are right where they should be at the bottom. Low population, low sales contribution: no bucks, no Buck Rogers.

Texas is a little low because of lower spending per capita than the top states. Cali just barely ekes out a top spot even though it has even lower per capita spending than Texas.

This entire plan makes no sense. Trying to get winners to win it in whatever state the ball chooses. What if the ball randomly always go to the same state. I know I would no longer play I would hate that type of manipulation. The lottery is random there is nothing wrong with the way the numbers are picked. My odds are just as good as anyone in California, Florida or Kansas. I don't want to worry about which state would be picked.

You keep saying that they look for the least played combinations. Do you understand that each state has it's own computer system and terminals? Do you understand how difficult it would be for MUSL to comb through all the combinations right before a draw, even if they had that capabilty?

I'm in the same boat, my time is about 17 years. Your numbers can also be included sense they are your own number sets. If someone bought a quick pick in Kansas and it was 1 2 3 4 5 - 6 and you played your own numbers which are the same, you would share the jackpot. This would also cut back on large amounts of duplicate losing number sets. I have played the same set of numbers since the lottery began years ago. Imagine how I would feel when my numbers came up but only a person in Kansas could win that drawing and I would be out of luck. I may just jump off a bridge.

Pick the wrong numbers are very common, MM consists too many (75) numbers is the main problem, so that every body picks the wrong numbers is no way to be avoided. It might be only way is to get rid of the MM, change to buy only Super Lotto or Power Balls only, both of these only select from 47 or 59 numbers plus mega that is all. I think these two might be earier get to shoot right into the jacket pots.(my openion
