Nobody is cheating you,i've noticed this as well with that ticket. The $500 prize appears on the ticket but is not listed on the website,this happens with NYL from time to time,the person inputting the odds data must mess it up. Anything over $600 in this state cant be cashed at a retailer,needs to be taken to a state facility or a state run casino,so no worries about that.

This is why I always SCAN a copy of my big winners to keep a record of them.

Not only is this fun, because you can print out a copy and frame it on your wall but you have PROOF of your win in case this sort of thing happens.

I have a scan of the front and back of EVERY win over $100.

I would Call the NY Lottery and explain what happened. Tell them the store you cashed it at and the DATE and TIME you cashed it and if you remember the ticket number that would be very helpful. They can hel... [ More ]

Definitely sounds like you got scammed, as terrible as it is.

I mi see that there is a feature on the New York Lottery website called a winner's atlas that shows where winners of more than $600 were sold. You can search the specific game and even a time frame, along with a location. Check that feature and see if you find that store... I hope you are able to get to the bottom of it. Did you take a photo of the ticket showing the ticket number and the spot where the 5x symbol was located? It's possible that there were other number match wins in addition to the 5x $500 symbol win on that ticket. If you received $500 from this retailer there is something definitely fishy. I would call NYL right away and explain the situation. NYL should have an electronic record of that transaction when the retailer scanned the ticket. So I won what I thought was a $500 prize on the $100 Million Dollar Payout

I scratched a 5X symbol with a $100 prize. I cashed it in and that was that

A couple of days ago I checked online and it turns out there is no prize possibility (or so it appears) it's from $250 to $1500

So I called NY LOTTO and they don't have any information for me.

I went to the store and the guy got a serious attitude with me like I was accusing him of something.
