Good Question- I certainly would walk away from the game if l won enough to last me till casket time .. Why be greedy, you sure as heck can't take it with you?

I read where Sting the musician said that his not leaving the bulk of his fortune to his kids, his giving them a starter kit and then telling them to build on it, selfish?- don't think so.

When I lived in CA, I met a man in Livermore, in a poker room. Never met him before, but one of the other players, introduced me. He chose to take the money in installments, and was not quitting his job. Paid off his house from first installment, bought a car, bank the rest and was going to bank future installments, after taxes. Sounded like, he had a plan.

A couple that were personal friends of my father won the Powerball some years ago. Beyond spending $200 a month on tickets (when they were still $1), they had no real system.

If they had won the Powerball, they would most likely respond The winning ticket was a quick-pick , since about 70% of jackpot wins have been QP's. Precious few if any of the self-pick winners used a system for that matter.

Don't know but I have met people who have won the Michigan Daily Keno and I have met people who won the Michigan 6/49 game and someone whose family member hit the $5 scratcher here in Michigan for its top prize.

I also was getting my car fixed when The Limo was getting checked over that took the Newberry winners to Lansing ( they were on LCML)

I bumped into one of those winners when they came into town on a spending spree.

I was sitting two seats away (both were empty) from a gal... [ More ]

All of the millionaires I have met have been surprisingly candid about how they acquired their wealth.

I imagine a lottery winner would be the same way.....i.e. Just got lucky. They know they would be ignorant giving any other explanation.

As far as lifestyle they would probably just tell you the same things you hear on LCML marathons

I would ask if he/she lays awake at night worrying about losing it all?

I would ask if he/she plans to spend it all or if they are trying to make it last for future generations
