Extremely unlikely. The previous increase was advertised as $31 million (annuity value), but the actual sales were only enough fo an increase of about $27 million. That means the current increase of $28 million they're advertising now is really a slightly bigger increase (last night's $261 million would have been a bit less than 261). Getting to $300 million would require a far bigger increase than the MUSL people expect, and their recent expectations have already been a bit optimistic.

PB ma... [ More ]

Whats with all the profit bashers? You took any raise offered to you in the past! Don't these extra profits go to fund education? The pot can grow for weeks to get to 300m and not create as many millionaires as one draw that goes from 300m to 600m. It's a win for everybody if you get pots going above the 275-300 million level.

So what has been holding back increasing the odds? Envy and worry over one person winning the big pot. They have to know that raising the odds that high is going to reduce the number of tickets they sell for modest jackpots, but they're hoping to make up for it with the unusually big jackpots.

Considering that the current version is the one they dial... [ More ]

Hoping isn't going change a thing. I think both multi-state games are interested in pushing the envelope of what players will put up with before they stop playing. Once that point is reached, they will step back and redesign the game to something similar to what they had just before reaching that point.

That's what happen in Ohio with their $2 Lot'O Play game with a 6/100 matrix. After a year they came out with Classic Lotto(6/49) for $1.

Megamillions was finally won so more people played Powerball tonight. If you look at previous players winning there was an increase of almost 150,000 winners. A winner of the jackpot should occur within this next week and I do hope it rises at least two more times to make it so much better if the jackpot is split by two people. I will buy a ticket if it rolls over once more, the all cash option is still under $170M.
