But I think your idea of a new game of Uberball is really good.

That way people who are from Missouri, and who are Uberdull can still play.

Also since Uberball is also pretty easy to win, I think people from California should be able to play for free.

Before PB was in Ohio some of Indiana's largest PB jackpot winners were Ohioans. While the same can't be said about Big Game jackpot winners in Michigan, Ohio figured keeping 65% of the money Ohioans spent on those games in state was better than letting other states keep it. That's not going to change regardless of their jackpots size. As long as these games are offered in neighboring states, they will be available in Ohio.

Thanks Ron for bringing something to my attention ... about the huge odds difference between getting five numbers in the Mega Millions and Powerball games.

I'm always looking for the best odds to make it better for a possible hit. I admit I didn't zero in on the new odds for five numbers all that much since the new Mega Millions matrix began ... it's eye-opening so I am dropping MM and will spend those dollars on the PB until the changes go into effect this coming July.

As for the state lotteries since IL now has MM and PB the lotto jp creeps but gets somewhat pumped up occasionally - $10 M maybe but even that's been awhile.

Missouri rarely cracks $3 or $4 M so that should be interesting.

This is the first time though, that Mega Millions is still at a minimum jackpot after three draws without a winner (the $15 million plus the three minimum increases of only $5 million). Sales for both multi-state games are already in the crapper and it will be even worse for PB after their game change.

Did a little more prying and turns out the directors are concerned of a MMC repeat, i.e. game will be too confusing for players. It is still slated to start sales July 12th but I have a feeling they may be revamping the second chance / Power Plus aspect of the game. They also admitted it won't help jackpot fatigue, which is interesting since the majority of lottery conference forums have included a focus discussion on resolving this problem. Until July. Not 100% sure the real reason why, but the painful burning memory of Monopoly Millionaires' Club might have something to do with it. As far as I know they aren't changing the matrix they've agreed on though.

If you reduce the number of tickets sold, which would be the effect of cutting those states out, jackpots would still tend to be won at about the same dollar value, but it would take longer to reach that value.

For the record, at current sales levels, there's about a 6% chance that a low-valued MM jackpot will be won; for PB, it's about 7-8%. Cut California, New York, and Florida out of the games, and those values drop to 4-5%.

Yes, California, New Jersey, and New York definitely need to be kicked out of mm PB. Give those states my Uberball game I referenced. Even with trillions of numbers to choose from those states would still win several times a year because it's WAY too easy for them. While I doubt PB or MM will disappear, the only problem they have is the same old places winning ( jackpot only ) Florida, missouri I think was a place that often won, or else it was iowa, to continue, new york, california, New Jersey. Which in turn lessens ticket sales, the MUSL has no one but its self to blame for low ticket sales. Make it harder for people to win in certain states.

You probably don't remember right after they changed PB there were several jackpots won before it had a chance to build up, and some were claiming PB would soon be gone.

It's random. Random things happen. There will be several rolls to another big jackpot. There will also be several winners in a short time without several rolls. If it was any other way, it wouldn't be random, would it? That WOULD be a problem.

I always find it amazing that someone didn't win. You see a big prize and know millions upon millions of people bought a little piece of a dream in the form of a ticket, and out of those millions of combos not one ticket hit. I don't think it is easy at all. It is just incredibly random.
