The same thing happens to me at work where some sites are blocked. I can't access LP directly if I type in the web address, but I can get there when I Google LP and click on the LP link.

It also helps if... say you're using an iPhone or iPad... saving LP as an app icon on your home screen. I'm always able to get on that way.

It may not be the individual companies that set the restrictions, but it may be the Internet Provider that they use.

Well, honestly, if you want to sit there and surf the net for porn and it isn't within the eyesight of a kid or some other patron at the dealership, why should they care what you look at while you are being held hostage in their waiting room waiting for your car to be fixed?

A car's dealership free wifi have nothing to do with freedom , they are a private business and are entitle to restrict the use of the wifi they are providing for.

A lot of companies have access policies that restrict where you can go while using there internet source. Myself i have seen it as well out in the oilfield.

I put end to issue without having to use a vpn and proxy. i have hotspot internet thru my personal phone so i have internet anywhere. Maybe you should concider the same thing. I can use mine for any device i have including my PS3, PC etc.

Usually blacklists are specific sites, not necessarily keywords. State lottery website is technically a state agency website, so it doesn't surprise me that is not blocked.

Yes. I have this problem at a lot of free WiFi places. I was getting my car serviced and was blocked there (can't remember if it was at the dealership or Pep Boys). Libraries I can understand, but some of the other places I've been blocked are quite surprising. I guess because I don't consider this a gambling site since as far as I know, I can't actually gamble here. I would have thought it would be considered an information gathering site than a gambling one.

Gambling is gambling. The lottery is gambling. This forum is dedicated to the lottery and has sub-forums on other gaming. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Don't forget, public library Internet is accessible to all ages. Would be a travesty to have a minor browsing a lottery website and get hooked on the game

Same thing with a Taco Bell out here in my neck of the woods- l usually do not care for fast food but l went there with my Ipad and it says Free Wifi . You then have to go through the bit on abiding by the rules etc : No profanity,no searching porn etc- Hey, l will go along with that.

So l tried Lottery-Post and was denied- No gambling it said.They want you to Enjoy the experience of being there, but you cannot look up the winning lottery numbers or anything related.Have not been back since

I cannot log onto Lottery Post at my local public library, b/c the Public Library blocks what it considers to be gambling sites. I even submitted the LP site through their complaint system, for reconsideration, but they still said NO.
