I've got pennies that I numbered several years ago, but I haven't used them for quite a while. Just been buying QP's. So, For MM, PB, and Lotto, I decided to try them again. Played 25 numbers on 5 lines for MM last night, and didn't have a single number that was drawn except for the megaball, which I picked from the top ten.

LOL. I know 25 numbers is only a third of the matrix, but dang.

I never remember Ohio lotteries having that bad of a payout but that was when you could play two boards for a dollar. That's a big difference from the payouts of their latest game Lucky for Life which cost $2 per board.

I bought my first wheeling book to play Ohio Lotto 6/44 that paid nothing for matching 3 numbers so I used 4 if abbreviated wheels. A full 10 number wheel had 210 lines and a 4 if 6 of 13 number wheel has 10 lines. Not playing that much might mean a small amount wagered on every drawing or they don't play very often.

I don't think you need to be so arbitrary with your definitions of hot and cold . Just count up how many times each number has hit over some number of draws. I could be 20, 30, 50, 100, etc.

You will notice that some of the numbers have hit a whole bunch of times, and some have hit only once or twice or even zero times. The first bunch are hot or hot and hitting as the late, great Gail Howard used to say. The ones at the bottom are cold . Some people go farther and define the in-between group... [ More ]

I don't know what cold numbers are.

Cold number for 5/75 MB (or 5/69 PB) would be a number that hasn't been drawn in 60 draws.

For 5/47 SLP, a cold number would be one that hasn't dropped in 40 draws.

Incidentally, the sequence of 51-53-56 came up a few draws agos (10/30). Not saying it couldn't happen that closely again, but sort of a good argument for not using QPs. A close grouping like that could happen again, but would move elsewhere in the matrix.

I don't really follow what you're saying. Even if you lock in a set of numbers, the balance of randomly generated numbers could be lower (or in between) so the lines don't necessarily have to all start the same.

I've hit 3/5 a bunch of times. Usually have at least 1 number on a ticket if I play 5 lines/ea. If I play 30 lines per draw, I'll hit the occasiona... [ More ]

Lottery extreme.com has an RNG (multiple lotteries). It allows you to add or ignore certain numbers in the picks. You could try that.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why haven't you used one of those generators to do it? In fact, I'll do you one better. Give me some set of white balls right now for the MEGA (5 white, one Mega; 1-75 numbers), and then I'll randomize the balance with my program. I'll post the lines here and we can watch what happens. You're using that set as Power Numbers, correct? So if the set is 7, 10, 13, every line will begin with those numbers.

There are QP generators on the internet that are free, will do what you're saying, and will also allow you to define 'rejections' (cold numbers).

All I'm doing is looking at past results. All JP games follow the same order of randomness. Spit out past results (say 100 draws) for ANY JP game and you'll see the same applies to ALL of them.

I think it's a great way to narrow the odds and wish CA Lottery allowed it. You still have to have a crap load of luck to guess the repeats, but its definitely better than playing completely random QPs. Out of curiosity, I wonder if the remaining numbers they QP'ed for you were 'cold'.

Sure, you can isolate the white ball and PB/MB QPs as an option, but not within the white ball selection.

A couple examples of trends:

In almost every JP draw, at least 2 of the drawn numbers have come up within the past 10-12 draws. To further expand on that, 4 of the numbers will be repeats from within the past 20-25 draws.

In almost every JP draw, 3 of the drawn numbers will be within 5 digits (or less) from the previous drawn number sequence.

Always play trends (back to back number pairs) in MM or PB. Trends have never lost, not once, ever. It's foolproof. The hard part is picking the right pair and the right +1 ball.

I think it's foolish to ignore trends.

But, I don''t abandon QPs entirely. If I do play QPs, I will also mark up a slip with those numbers and shift numbers around (like one or 2 rows/columns each).

I think there's a balance to trusting your gut feeling, as well.

There always seems to be some sense to the drawn numbers (with maybe the exception of an all high (or low) draw). The goal is to try to make sense of them prior to the draw. I haven't quite figured that part out . . .yet.... [ More ]

With a Quick Pick win is only Luck. I prefer to pick my own Numbers. I believe in Divide and Conquer. I use a system in which 2 groups of numbers are set by the previous draw. I track the number of hits from each group and try to predict the Next numbers by getting the count right. I posted the sequence in the Mathmatics Forum.

If I win I will feel like I worked for the Prize.

I've recently created an Excel program that automates everything for me, randomizing a set of numbers I've selected to play. The program auto adds a power Power Number (key number) to play each game. Sometimes this is random; sometimes I choose the Power Number. No need to purchase any silly wheels or extraneous programs that claim guaranteed wins. I've programmed several games into it, so far.

There is a site called Random.org that generates random numbers using atmospheric noise from telescope arrays -- supposedly has been analyzed and no patterns detected. It will generate Quick Picks for any matrix/number of picks you specify.

Well, I do my own lottery draws using numbered scraps of paper. I use two bags. Well, technically three because MM and PB have different bonus ball amounts. One for white balls and the other for the bonus balls. I put stars on 70-75 ; that way I didn't have do another set of scraps of paper for PB. I just pick out those numbers to do PB draws. I pretty much just simulate a lottery draw buy shaking up the bags and picking a number each time. I don't see how you can get more random than that. It's... [ More ]

My best method - sit quietly with no distractions, look at the playslip and mark the numbers that seem to jump out at me. Choose fresh numbers each week. My favorite or lucky numbers seem to work their way in often. So, kinda random, but not truly random.
