I just noticed someone on the prediction board winning a decent amount of time, so I thought it was interesting. Then I checked the number of games this person was playing against the payout and the FULL picture became clear. Spending $50 to get one 3/5 combo for $10 is still losing, even if you won every day.

we get it you are negative on the lottery and feel like it is a game of random chance with impossible odds.

Not all of us feel that way and enjoy playing and reading up on these pattern theories and other mystical theories.

Ok back to being positive now....

Further investigation of this is warranted. At the very least such a pattern would be helpful

if you were wheeling a large set. You could power number the pairs.

Yes, it is the Mathematics section. I took all of the JADE One Hit Wonder picks from Jan 10. 2010 through April 2010, put them in a spreadsheet and compared them with the Minnesota numbers drawn for those same dates, computed the winning amounts, summed them up and ended up with an average loss of 50% of the bet over the large number of tickets, very close to what a random selection of numbers would have produced.

So someone posts a bunch of numbers and if some combination hits you claim he's predicted a winner but if someone points out that all his predictions add up to so many combinations that it is no better than random chance you announce that you have to be selective which numbers to play.

I'd suggest if Dr Miracle wants his selective method to be considered a success he actually has to tell us which numbers are selected prior to the drawing, not afterwards.

Anyone with a system should welcome someone comparing it with random chance and seeing if it in fact works or if it in fact is consistent with random chance.

5 numbers out of 30 is 142,506 so the loss is $142,006 not counting the 4 $5 winners for getting 3 of 5 right

The odds of picking 4 number is 1 in 52,000 so random chance would get you about 3 $500 winners

What are the odds that someone could post 142,506 combinations and only get 4 of 5 numbers on a single ticket

Since every number from 0 to 9 is in those sets, it is obvious that someone can claim that SOME combination of those numbers will generate the Powerball number because, duhh, the Powerball is made up of digits from 0 to 9

Back testing has this much value for random draws: 0

Seriously, I could look at the past 29 drawings and come up with an algorithm that would have predicted every single one of them.

Unfortunately it would get every subsequent one wrong.

There is a difference between posting a bunch of single digit numbers and actually picking 5+1 numbers that range from 1-69 and 1-26

Like the difference between 1 and 292 million

This appears to be random. Looked at the numbers again and can't find a pattern or reliable pair. It might work for kick 3 ( I have no idea as I don't really play the p3). Not seeing how it works here. It is an interesting. Theory though.

Your Pattern Strategy may work for Pick 3/4, but I think you are stretching it to fit for the Powerball Lottery !!! I do not think this strategy will work well in foresight for a Jackpot type of lottery

so you are saying that the 4 is a trigger for the 1 or 6 in the same draw? Another words those digits take care of 3 if my 5 picks right there if I Am thinking the 4 is going to repeat next draw. Or can these show up without the 4 in the next draw. Just trying to get it straight.

I'm liking the 1 for other reasons so am intrigued by this...
