I can understand how these types of situations make people feel bummed, but you gotta take into account the butterfly effect. If you woke up Tuesday morning and wrote down some Mega Millions numbers, but for some reason didn't play them and those numbers came out, that doesn't mean that had you actually played the numbers, you would have won the jackpot. ONE DIGIT OFF. Not one number. One single solitary digit. Talk about being sick to your stomach. I did win $555 but it's not the same as $200,000.

In August 2015 I bought $5 ny lotto which means 10 lines I had all 6 numbers in those lines but only 3 in 1 line so I got only $1

On Dec 30, 2014, I had purchased a $5 Quick pick Mega ticket. On the first line, I had the mega #. On the second line, I had one of the 5 main numbers. Nothing on the third, and the fourth line had 4 of the 5 main numbers (missing only the one number from the second line).

Had all 5 plus mega on one ticket, just not all on the same line.

I did win $501 though

That's pretty much the reason why I never pick my own numbers! It's nice not to feel forced to play each week just in-case my numbers come up

I once had NY Lotto ticket that had all of the numbers for the 2nd place prize, which was about 80 or 85k. Unfortunately, you get 2 lines for $1 with NY Lotto, and my ticket had 3 numbers on each of the two lines. I won my $1 back.

This isn't the same but somewhat close...I buy tickets in different states when I travel. I was cleaning up yesterday and found a out of state Megamillions ticket on the floor. I looked at it and saw the numbers and was very annoyed because someone had been in my thngs. Then I looked closer and saw this was a ticket from last year from a different state than I thought it was. That's why I never save my old tickets. What's worse than that is jotting down numbers for an upcoming draw and only having a limited amount to play, then finding out one of the numbers you didn't pick would have won. LOL

I got a QP PB ticket for just the upcoming draw about 3 years ago. On the day of the draw, didnt match a single number.

I hang onto tickets for a while, and leave them in a stack. So the next drawing came up... Well... my old ticket would have matched all 5 and the PB was just one number off...... I've never been so sad (And a vast array of other emotions) I didn't opt for more than 1 drawing on that ticket. dunno of everyone read my plan to have interest on savings pay for my lotto entries. but yeah that would be my plan , min entries for ever on everry draw i care to play. preferably automatically entered, and once a year check the account to see how much i won.

I generally check my numbers first thing in the morning after drawings. I was checking all of my tickets. When I got to my Florida Lotto ticket, and got down to line G , I thought the numbers looked VERY familiar. The numbers for line G are 2, 17, 24, 31, 39, 47. I looked down at the recent Mega Millions numbers, and was shocked! The latest numbers are 2, 17, 31, 39, 47 MB 9! That's the closest I've been to winning a million dollars. Has something similar happened to you
