Yesterday I drove to the local lotto office and turned in my 1000 dollar winner. After filling out some paperwork the nice woman at the counter informed me that I will receive a check in the mail from the state controller for 1,000 in 6-8 weeks. I was kinda bummed they didn't take my picture with the he big check. They had lots of other photos of people with 1,000 winners on the wall. I guess I'm too ugly.h

nice, congrats on the win. Keep us updated, am curious if you will get the full $1,000 amount or whether they will deduct the 25% taxes automatically

Also curious how long it takes from the time you submit the claim until you get the check

I think this thread brought me luck. Won 1000$ on 777 scratcher. I'm going Monday to the local lotto office I'll report an update. This is my biggest scratcher win yet.

its funny how on this particular game the prizes are super complicated for the low amounts. For instance 6,10,15,20,50 and 100 prizes seemed to mostly be in the form of a multiplier 3x or 7x plus a few number matches all to make a low prize. 6$ would 3x1.00 then three matching numbers each 1.00. In Michigan it also says they withold 25% but I got a check for $1000. (on the spot

Well I haven't won any 2nd chance or big prize (yet) but I looked in the claim form and it says they withhold 25% tax

When I won 2nd chance I was sent a check for the full 1,000.i think you pay the tax when you prepare them in April.

If I had a $1,000 winner I can guarantee you I'd be on the phone with the lottery people getting the correct information as far as how to cash it, where to go, etc, instead of posting a question about it on a message board!

Also another thing you probably don't want to hear :) but the check you receive will be for $750 and not $1,000 because they withhold 25% tax

I believe you give them your claim form and the ticket, and after a few weeks you get a check in the mail

What satate are you in?

In Mi you go to the lottery head quarters- show them Id and social security card and they cut you a check. And they give you something to turn in with your taxes.

ive never won over 500$ i am curious as to how i can go about claiming, if i drive to the district lottery office will they verify it and pay me on the spot or am i sitll going ot have to wait 4-6 weeks?
