When I was living where there wasn't any.

The first time I played was in Germany, 1970-1972.

Returned to the states, Texas, no lotto at the time.

Then Korea, then California - no lotto at the time.

Then lived in Nevada and didn't play until Nipton got popular (Calif. lotto)

Now in Illinois, play $1 or $2 a day.

I took a break from March all the way through June learned a lot because I was not stressed about playing or missing the draw. I was just focused on learning and studying lottery history and comparing different states to my state.

As you can see from my signature below I didn't play much last year and have skipped most of the this year, I figure I'd start up again this month or next, just because it's getting to be near the end of 2016.

Lately I have not felt like playing but I still study my lotto charts and look at lotto systems and I m still here on Lottery Post everyday

I hope this never happens again, I did try to quit once and the same day my lucky numbers were drawn am still regretting about it :( just imagine where I could have been right now, mayB in a luxurious palace or shopping in the biggest malls. Never-mind, life always gives us a second chance and now I keep playing on loteryClub, lets hope I become a millionaire soon. Never give up fellows anything can happen anytime. Anyone want to share their experience

a few times, I have quit playing a certain game.

ticket price, the numbers don't look right.

or for instance the multi state officials

adding so many numbers to Mega and Powerball.

quit playing the Florida Lotto for the same reason.

sometimes its good to take a break.

Being financially free (no money) has stopped me from playing. Back in June i won a total of $480 from Kansas Pick 3. Bought some more Pick 3 numbers but didn't win any more after the $480

About once per week. Once per week I tell myself how stupid it is to throw away good money like this. Then I'll be at Publix and the register will ring up with a weird number. Or I'll go to lunch and the fortune cookie will say I'll be coming into a large amount of money. Or I'll have an extremely vivid and believable dream about winning a certain amount. Thanks for sayin so ! I only wish I had quit earlier... or never smoked at all.

BTW I still have my last pack of smokes...unopened...just a keepsake w/ the quit date wrote on the pack.

Now if that cigarette $ would just buy me a big winner

If I remember right, they were about $1.25 a pack when I quit. Now about $8.00

I was using 4 packs a week...but I don't spend that much on Lottery.

Sometimes I go to Delaware for tix. the smoke shop I get tix at has a big sign for Marlboro @ $50.00 a carton.

I guess that must be a good deal w/ a sign that big.

I know people that don't even play Lottery and they go to Delaware for smokes.

I can HONESTLY say I did quit playing the Tennessee Lottery.Its a scam,rigged,RNG,bull hocky...Im proud of myself...Ive lost thousands since 2004.when you get so fed up with the bull you say Ive had enough....Im sure they are not missing my money,a new person will start playing today or tomorrow,so whatever....In Murfreesboro they are missing my money...I never won nothing here,500 couple times,,,that keeps you playing...its been 6 months Lottery free...I got money money money in my account too,... CONGRATS EdG and haymaker for conquering that nasty cigarette habit. I have never smoked but my husband did off and on a couple of times. He hated cigarettes but said that was the habit hardest for him to break.

i stop buying tickets periodically when the big games reset but only for a few weeks at best.

Have you priced cigarettes lately? A carton would buy quite a few lottery tickets nowadays. When I quit smoking in '93, I was doing 2-1/2 packs a day, so almost 2 cartons a week.

I was forced to quit...when I moved to CA. they didn't have lottery yet...does that count ?

Then along come prop 37 which I happily voted for and a year later..YAY ! Lottery !

This timed out just right for me as I quit smoking 9/18/85 and tix became available just weeks later.

I said to myself I'm gonna buy lottery w/ my cigarette money

Interesting subject. I did quit about 5 years ago. At the time I did really good trading pinksheet stocks. Thought I could do it again, well, that didn't work out so well. LOL! So I continued trying my luck trying to figure out my favorite lottery game, Wisconsin Supercash. I have my number chart so... IMO its just a matter of time until the numbers follow the pattern I predict.

Only to return to try your luck once again? Winning or the thought of winning is pretty powerful so don't feel ashamed if you have returned on a number of occasions !
