Well the crickets still seem to be chirping on this KENO.

I also noticed that the South East Michigan baseball raffle did not get a lot of play.

They had at least a couple months to sell tickets and probably sold about 55,000 for a $100,000 50/50 prize.

Poor or declining sales don't seem to be a factor in which games the MSL keeps, changes or starts

That was quite a bit to read when I logged back in but it is nice to see.

I don't understand why the MSL hasn't changed the draw games in forever when they change the instants more often than they change their underwear.

Daily Keno and Poker Lotto need to go. There must be an awful lot of players out there that simply don't pay any attention at all when they buy tickets for these zombie RNG Games.

Interesting thing to note is Daily Keno sales went up from 2002 to 2004 yet there's an abrupt change in overall wins and the Regression Wave analysis never went above its previous ball drawn win rate.

That sudden change cannot be explained away by Daily Keno sales.

In fact, it's the very opposite of what we'd expect for increased sales.

As stated before, the MI lottery switched from ball drawn to computer generated numbers at about 2002-10-14 Mon.

From the win data we can see there was a very distinct change in the total wins.

Analyzing further, we see the Regression Wave shows this change even more so and appears to be in sync with the switch to computer generated numbers.

We can see this full graph where the change is very likely related to the change in number selection as there are no other abrupt changes

In 2016 the Michigan Keno game ticket sales were $9,591,661 compared to $14,022,000 in 2007. And ticket sales actually increased $3 million ($13,471,000 in 2003 compared to $10,324,000 in 2002) when they started using RNG drawings and went from 4 to 7 weekly drawings.

The number of winners is only half of the equation. Unless you see the sales numbers side-by-side with the number of winners, it is fairly meaningless.

In other words, if the sales have remained fairly constant, yet the number of winners drops, then something may be amiss. But if the sales drop in the approximate same proportion to the drop in winners, then there is nothing strange going on.

Yay RNG! Roughly twice as many draws (7/4) with roughly half as many wins (75d vs 45d).

Michigan should weed this game and plant a new one.

Here's the Days Since Last Win chart Highlighted for each selection type.

During the ball drawn, the average days between top wins is about 45 days.

During the computer generated, the average days between top wins is about 75 days.

The game you're talking about only slightly resembles casino and many state lottery 4 and 5 minute Keno games. Because that game draws 22 numbers out of 80, the odds of matching 10 numbers are much lower. The number of draws without a jackpot winner is probably because of lack of play and tonight's payoffs reflect that.

They switched from ball draw to RNG in 2002.

It was probably October 2002. Keno used to be drawn 4 days a week and then it went to 7 when it went RNG. I would have to look it up to know the exact month.

Yes, payoffs are irrelevant in calculating the odds.

However, the Daily Keno is a $1 game and the Poker lotto is a $2 game and they both have roughly 2,500,000 to one odds for their top prizes-

$1 for 250k for Daily Keno or $2 for 100K for the Poker Lotto

Payoffs are irrelevant when calculating odds and the odds against matching 10 numbers in any 20/80 Keno game is 8,911,711 to 1.

The 5/10 doesn't pay and the 0/10 is an easypick.

You have to get 6/10 and better.

The odds of hitting 10 spots for $250,000 on the Daily Keno are about 2,500,000 to 1 which are about the same odds as matching 5 cards for $100,000 on the Poker Lotto

Has anyone else noticed that there has been a precipitous drop in the number of winners of the match 10 on the Michigan Daily Keno?

In fact it has been over a year since anyone has hit 10 spots! Prior to that there were multiple 10 spot winners per year!

If you look at Poker Lotto you will notice the number of Match 5 wins has plummeted too.

If people have wised up and stopped buying these games then the MSL should replace them with new games.
