			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hey Jestine!<br /><br />The sum of the numbers is nothing more than adding all of the digits to arrive at the sum. For example, I was born in 1962, so the sum is: 1+9+6+2=18. If you want to know the root sum, take that answer and add the two digits together: 1+8=9...that&#x27;s the root sum. The root sum will always be a number from 1 to 9, with the exception of number 0000, which has a root sum of 0 .<br /><br />So, the number 1223 (1+2+2+3) gives us a sum of 8, which is also the root sum.
