I thought that but with the situation in Illinois I believe a lot of players would go for a game where they might win $25,000 and know they'd get paid as opposed to winning say $300,000 (Lucky Day Lotto) and getting $25,000 and an OU from a broke state.

If I remember right when the state pulled the same stunt in 2015 the $25,000 was reduced to $600 rather quickly.

States already have games with fixed jackpots amounts, pick3, 4, 5, Lucy for Life, Cash4Life and etc. and they don't attract players like PB and MM.

For Illinois and other states that may suspend payouts over a certain amount, why not a draw game with a constant $25,000 jackpot or a $25,000 ceiling?

Sure there would be a lot of multiple winners but a lot of players would rather play something they know they'll get paid on than to accept an IOU from someone whose lights and water are shut off because they can't pat them.

Uless of course the state is saying they'll pay $25,000 or less right now but know that's going to drop down to $600.... [ More ]
