The HURRY, TICKETS GOING FAST blurb on their website is comical. Selling 500 or so per day, if even that, across an entire state doesn't seem fast at all. Heck, in the past 10+ minutes, it appears they've only sold ONE! At the rate they're selling, day after Labor Day looks a no go. There's a 3 business day gap between end of sales and actual draw, which further extends out the timeline. Probably Mid-September at earliest.

Thanks for all the comments :]

I agree I think the name has confused folks and a lot of people probably assume the drawing is over. I dont think the prize structure is not very appealing ... aside from the top prize. This has been a fail for the Idaho lottery and I hope they just stick to the millionaire raffle from now on.

Just wow. I've seen some bad lottery raffles, but this takes the cake! The 10 $1,000 2nd tier prizes is lousy, but that pales in comparison to the lowest tier prize of $15. So one spends $10 on a special raffle ticket, and the Idaho Lottery thinks people are going to be excited to most likely win barely over break-even.

Prize Amount Number of Winners Odds

$100,000 1 1:50,000

$1,000 10 1:5,000

$50 1,350 1:37

$15 5,500 1:9

Total: $260,000 Awarded out of $500,000 sales... [ More ]

Todd's post makes sense to me, and I'd add to his point that $100,000 top prize probably does not generate much player excitement.

Of course I take it if I won, but most raffles around the country that I've seen and played are for a top prize of a million dollars. Why a puny $100,000? Give players something to really get excited about. And in those other states, whether or not tickets sold out, the raffle was held on the date advertised. Idaho does a million dollar raffle on New Years day, wh... [ More ]

I think people may be honestly confused. Normally a raffle name relates to the day it will be drawn, not the date tickets go on sale. It's a real head-scratcher why they would call it the 4th of July raffle. It's like calling a New Year's raffle the Labor Day Raffle if tickets go on sale in September for a January 1 draw date.

50,000 tickets went on sale July 4th for $10 each. $100,000 top prize. The raffle ends 3 days after the last ticket is sold. Here we are 55 days later and still have 7,228 tickets to sell. The St. Patricks Day raffle sold out in 22 days. Clearly not much interest in this one. The Millionaire New years raffle usually goes on sale end of october.... I wonder if this raffle will be sold out by then.
