Maybe it's something that went into effect as of Jan. 1st? They keep every ones money for an extra 6 weeks, earn interest on it, then give it back to you. Of course, you don't get any interest on it...

Watch it go up to 8 weeks some time in the future. When that happens will depend on the state budget.

The tickets are less then 4 weeks from play date and a few scratch offs that are still active. So unsure why this change or why now it's becoming harder to find a retailer willing to cash them. It's okay for them to take money but not pay out. It's bizarre..

How long have you saved the tickets? Having to wait 6 weeks to get paid is crazy. You can get your income tax refund faster than that!!!

I just went on the Pa lottery website. Here's what it says.

Recently had saved tickets to cash in. Went to one of the larger chain grocers to get paid. They have updated their pay provision that anything over $200 cannot be paid out. Instead they hand a form to mail the tickets in. I proceed to call around to other PA retailers and they also changed their store policy for payouts. Any suggestions where I can redeem these without having to jump thru hoops? The irony is I live close by one of the main claim centers but they still make you wait six weeks fo... [ More ]
