Last year I was traveling cross-country. I was on the return leg of the trip and stopped at a restaurant in Az. While I was eating dinner I was looking at the last ten draws of AoN and put together three sets to play for four consecutive draws. My first time playing that game I hit nine of ten along with some eights for a total win of $267. That is a tricky game. It looks easier than it is and looks are deceiving.

I gave up playing Super Lotto and all those games that have ridiculous odds. I

I play All or Nothing everyday. My attraction to this game, and to a lesser extent, Triple Chance is the overall odds. The odds to hit a jackpot are long, no doubt. However, my experience especially with AoN is that I often win back my $2, and sometimes more. Im playing a set of numbers, and the opposite set for a cost of $4. This morning I got my $4 back. Monday morning I won $50 x 2.

With 2 Step, Lotto, MM,and PB, I almost NEVER win anything back. So, with a $4 bet on AoN, I'm playing for a... [ More ]

This might sound strange but I think probably the worst thing that can happen to a Pick 3/4 player (or to anyone who gambles) is to actually win something. Thus, the seed is born. It's kind of a false sense of security . It's easy to start believing that now that you've won something, you'll be able to do it over and over again and make a living off of it. Which, like Bob stated above, is extremely rare.

Not so long ago there was a member here who boasted that he had cracked the Daily Pick 3 Game. He even provided numbers before the drawing to several selected members (different States) just to prove his point. It was quite an accomplishment ! I'm proud to mention him as one of my mentors as he was no joke who backed up everything he said could do and then some. And oh, by the way, he always hit 'em STRAIGHT. Check out the LP Archives

While nothing is ever truly impossible, I'd say the number of people supporting themselves solely by playing the daily numbers game is very rare indeed.

What I would say, is the daily numbers can be profitable to supplement income in lieu of say a second job.

With a good system, with good money management, with discipline and luck you can make money. However, it will be a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, ending at times in the negative and you will need a regular income to bail... [ More ]

I'm not going to argue that point. The fact that a couple of straight hits in the past has driven my betting and I have to balance that hope with reason and not go overboard. A couple of times I've relaxed my betting and my numbers hit and I found that really annoying; and to make it worse, they hit straight. Grrrr....

So the point I was curious about was whether there are people that support themselves solely with their bets or always keep it at a hobby level.

I've been playing the daily games for a long time. I wonder if anyone knows someone who supports themselves from their lottery winnings; just to keep it in distant abstract terms. No need to testify about personal wins.

I try to balance my play between what I spend and afford to what I could actually win. I used to play on paper and make large number pools of 200 sets for Pick 5 games like Fantasy 5, for instance. After two weeks there would be the possibility of some sizable accumulations of... [ More ]
