The house edge on 2-10 spots is 65%.

The expected return of KY Lottery Keno 2-spot is 66.1%, a 3-spot is 65.4%, a 7-spot is 65.3%, and even the 10-spot is 63.67%. The worse house edge of those four is less than 37%.

Just saw where you corrected your figures and from the tables the Wizard of Odds provided, some of the KY Keno payoffs are on par to to some Keno slot machines.

correction, those numbers are payback percentage, not house edge (so house edge of 35% for 2-10 spots, 50% for 1 spot, 25% live keno, and 5-15% for machine keno at a casino.

I looked at the KY lottery keno payouts and odds, and I calculated the following:

the house edge on 2-10 spots is 65%.

the house edge on 1 spot is 50%. Yikes!

The house edge on the side bet is zero because the average multiplier is 2. Nice.

The house edge at live keno in a casino is usually 75%. Machine keno is usually 85% to 95%. I only play if it's 95% and 25 cents per drawing. However, doing drawings on a machine every few seconds results in losing about the same amount... [ More ]

Of course our old 'trends are friends' are most challenged within the 4 minute time restriction

Four-minute Keno is very popular in Kentucky and based on some of the prizes won, some of the betting is very sophisticated. There are lots of 4, 5, 6, and 7-spot winners that wagered $5 or more on their bet. Saw where a player hit a 7-spot for $50,000 by betting $10 ($5 bet plus another $5 on the multiplier) and matching all 7 numbers with a multiplier of 5 .

1 Why would anyone fill out a bet slip not knowing what numbers are hot/cold etc?

Players can pick and play from 1 to 10 numbers and because 20 of 80 numbers are drawn every 4 minutes, tracking hot/cold is difficult at best. Keno games are numbered and the ticket shows which game[s]. The PA Lottery shows the drawings and hot and cold numbers on their website.

3 Has anyone been to an establishment that has the Keno terminals? I would be interested to find out how this works. The reason I

I live in Pennsylvania and have yet to visit an establishment that has Keno terminals. Maybe in a day or 2. However, today I did see a new machine at a Royal Farms while filling up with gas this morning. Took a brief look and shook my head. The new machine does have Keno, that is you can fill out your bet slip, insert it in the machine and it will spit out your tickets.

Now my questions are the following:

1 Why would anyone fill out a bet slip not knowing what numbers are hot/cold etc
